Sly has truly outdone himself this time. Taking inspiration from Battlefronts 1 and 2, and DICE's interpretation of the design, we present you the Rebel infantry in game. Keep in mind these are the basic troopers on display. There are still many more variations for species and outfits based on their levels.
Love the mix of BF1 and BF2016. Maybe more then BFC if you can get some dope animations
would it be possible to add some additional functions to GC? like if you destroy all civilian homes it would raise or lower the production/credit production, depending on the side of the civilians (dont destroy -> sabotage; destroy -> nothing happens) or something like that? that one time credit bonus is nice but a bit senseless
that isnt possible it would be possible to get a higher credit bonus but there are limits to the game what you can do even if there is so much modding possibilities
I have an idea on how rebel infantry should work:
The Infantry should reflect the planet they were built on so on planets with many species you can recruit mixed infantry where everyone is a different species but on like Alderran you can build human only infantry and Kashyyyk can only build Wookies and so on.
There are some variations in the current version. They are somewhat specialized infantry divisions. E.g. Wookies has high dmg, Sullustans have the ping ability, and the Mon Cals have shields, plus they come with a mobile shield generator.
yea i know that's in the mod but I was thinking rebel infantry should be more like how new republic infantry is in the beta with multiple species in one squad and they would become more regimented after they become the new republic with squads only of one species
I like the thought and agree with your first post in this series. But if anything, as the rebellion transitions into the New Republic, moving from local cells (mixed or not-mixed according to local population) to trans-planetary organization (many planets, so mixed), things would become more mixed rather than segregated. The NR had enough issues with things like the Kryptos virus increasing tensions between humans and the various species, and trying to distance itself from the Empire, which was very human-dominant/supremist. So any kind of segregation would have been discouraged. Of course, the Kryptos is LEGACY... so not sure if this mod maintains that ever happened... ;)

I think bullet is just integrating some new stuff with the old stuff. Just not copter-sabers (shivers).
Yeah, separating species is not "regimenting" at all, that's downright segregating.
What happens is species don't keep their advantages to their own group, they complement each other in one unit.
I honestly feel ashamed. I wasn't advocating any form of segregation in the game. I was just trying to supply different and interesting new squad mechanics where different worlds give different infantry groups with different strengths and weaknesses. And I know i may be taking this too seriously since it is a game but I feel bad for suggesting anything even remotely related to segregation.
please forget whatever infantry ideas i suggested before.
You took/take this waaay to seriously. We're talking about segregation of fictional species. No one's gonna be offended (Save their souls if they are).
yea... I know but as an African-American I just felt really bad about realizing my ideas were segregating and i needed to get it off my chest.
But yes, I take things way too seriously sometimes. maybe it's because I have been very inspired by you guys and the Mod.
that would be alot of work and annoying to do because you would need to create different unit types for all planets
I would do it, I've already thought about doing it for my mod I just wish I had better infantry models because I would have to work with the civilian models.
Are you planning to update the soldiers running animation? Since i have started to play the game, i have met only ONE pretty good running animation. It was the Officer's model in the old Startgate mod for vanilla EAW.
I know nothing about modelling and animations, so it might be a stupid question but is it hard to make a good looking one?
