Alien Trilogy (UD)

I'm using the assets provided by Lex Safonov's version of Alien Trilogy (TC). He was able to extract the graphics from Alien Trilogy.

Thus far, I've converted all of the enemies to the game. They behave like the monsters in Aliens: the Ultimate Doom. Moreover, I've added more blood and gore to the death states. All the weapons have been converted as well. I have added in 2D sprite versions of the voxel-based items for now. Like Aliens: the Ultimate Doom, there will be faction-based fighting. Each level will feel like a war between the different species; with an occasional visit from the predator. I still need to add more content to the game before I can release it, but check out the video, and pics below.

It's hard for me to keep my superlatives to a minimum after watching the video and studying the screenshots.

Just... WOW!

I REALLY enjoy and appreciate the style of the NPCs' sprites. There's something almost painterly about them. My only concern in regards to their appearance is with the traditional, "all-black" xenomorph.

To me, it's POSSIBLY too dark. I'm badly torn on this. In the films, the darkness of its exoskeleton grants it excellent camouflage in the shadows, but there's a part of me that desires to see more of the awesome details by increasing the contrast of some of its parts so that they're more visible. As it stands right now, beautifully made details ARE there, but can only be appreciated in the screenshots. In action, the all-black xenomorph's features are too dark to make out as it moves lightning fast across the screen. That said, it looks PERFECT in the screenshots. Tough call on this observation of mine.

The Predator and the two humanoid-enemies look SUPERB. The level of detail is impressive and the details match the universe exceptionally well. I'd leave those sprites alone.

The particle effects and tracer rounds are TERRIFIC. The screenshots don't do them justice. They look great in action, slicing across the environment in the video. The sparks' "physics" is impressive, as is the flames from the flamethrower. I appreciate how the flames will "stick" to an area till the fuel is totally consumed.

And it doesn't look like there's a severe shortage in regards to acquiring ammunition. My chief complaint with the other Alien mod is that ammunition was far too hard to come by. Here, it looks like that's being wisely avoided.

I am having trouble setting up the mod. I followed the instructions and none of the levels are loading properly, the enemies are still doom enemies and no xenos show up. Am I missing a step?

Keep in mind that what's in the video and screenshots is NOT yet in the mod. The author pointed this out. At this time, what you'll get here to play from the Files sections isn't the same material as he's showcasing now.

Still, the other mods are well done, and well worth experiencing.

Nevermind I figuered it out, I had to drag all of the files into the gzdoom port. Got it.

I just use Zandronum, mainly because it has a Skins Folder that let's you dump any Mod File into it and has Co-op & Multiplayer.

you really should consolidate all those files into one single .WAD or .pk3 archive
also is this supposed to be played with ultimate doom only?
