I downloaded and tried, in my factions list I have Soviet, Allies, and Soviet... Installed the correct way, loaded the correct way too. Have you guys taken out the Confeds for now? And why is there no Japan either?
Hunts out Morrowind disk... Reinstalls...
Couldn't agree more! I think it's really raised the bar on what minecraft should be.
With that said, it'll be nice to see what notch does to his sky dimension!
Do you guys know where i can find a unit/structure list for any of the factions in this mod, it looks fantastic!!!!
With regards to the new harvester design, i think it looks ok. However if the community doesn't like it as a harvester, and you decide to create a new model for it, how about changing this slightly for a mutant transport vehicle? Maybe lengthen the model, re-skin, and make it a futuristic battle bus? I know the 'battle bus' has been done in generals and cnc4, so maybe a different name, but it would make the mutants even more of a useful force, although, if any more mutant units are added, they can soon be referred to as a true mini-faction!
if by fleet you mean a navy, there was one mod called naval expansion, it was a german mod, don't think its on moddb though. Google it
MASS tank + MCV, make it huge, then deploy it...
anybody used an atlas mass tank on an MCV yet? deploy it while its massive and see what i mean...
well said Vader91, i was thinking the exact same thing!
I have noticed that the confeds don't have a modelled refinery yet, with the release in 5 days, will we see a model, or will they just be using the allied one like in the paradoxcasts?
my bad, watching it now, and i have only two words for this: OH YEAH!
Can't wait for the first release, keep up the great work guys!
Eagerly awaiting the release of the confeds, can't wait to build a rebel naval force!
Any chance of a video of the confed navy in action as a little teaser?
what happened to the prometheus unit you modelled a while ago?
i was really looking forward to aerial bombardments, but havent seen or heard any news about it for a while
everyone that thinks this should be a combat ship should look at an earlier model of the 'prometheus'
dunno if anything else happened with this model but really like the idea of it, as this was meant to be a battleship. And then the kodiak could be the support unit it should be
i already knew that from behind the scenes on the wiki, it just seems like the fact that it can be done, given that the confeds have no extra power system like soviets super reactor etc, they should gain some benefit from building an 'advanced power plant'
I've noticed in a couple of the screenshots of confed bases, the power plants are built close together, to give the effect of an advanced PP from RA1. Does this provide any benefit ie an extra 50% power from the two plants together, or is it just for an advanced power plant feel?
I'm probably thinking too far ahead at the moment, but when all the factions are complete, and you guys begin work on the campaigns, how big will they be. I mean, a campaign in RA3 is about 8 missions long, or will they be more like uprising, with only 3 or 4 missions per faction... OR... will it be more like one big campaign telling the story of all the factions at once, ie, different factions on each mission?
i think the defense queue is a good thing really, as the allies have no other construction structures besides the mcv (compared to soviet crane and now empires nanocore queue). It balances quite well, plus its called a DEFENSE bureau, so it seems logical that it should have some kind of benefit towards the defensive structures, and another build queue seems appropriate in my eyes.
Although after playing again i noticed no increase in power from the power plants.
from what i see it adds an extra defence build queue, and increases power output from power plants? there are green lines that head out to them similar to the clearance levels to barracks etc so i'm assuming its to do with power considering power plants dont do anything else.
can you not make it random, so it picks a faction colour and their aircraft in the background, so its different each time, that would be cool. Not that this one isn't, great work guys
does the Nod laser defense (anti tank one, cant remember whats its called) get a benefit from laser capacitors? Just that GDI gets the EMP for its RPG tower, and i think the scrin gets tib enhancement for theirs.
the kodiak cant just be a clone of the PAC, and to be honest, GDI already has an assault epic unit (the MKII), so the Kodiak should be more of a support/tactical epic, and so should the Montauk for that matter, since the Cyborg Commando is more assault based
seems to me like this can only have maybe another 3 versions then the factions will be complete:
1. patch 1.4
2. release 1.5
3. patch 1.5
but then what.... a campaign perhaps?
montauk should have a huge drill on the front, and can burrow through a building (big cooldown though), destroying it, and montauk surfaces and has laser arrays to take care of infantry/tanks, then reburrows to a safe location. Fits in with Nods Hit and run tactics i think, even if the drill idea is a bit OP
And as for the Kodiak, i dont think it should be a copy of the assault mothership with planes and railguns, it should be a support/defensive epic
call it the catalyst mothership
its one of the models in worldbuilder, when i ran it with Essence in the config file, theres also the damaged normal cyborgs in there as well. I dont know much about modding TW, but could you not add the damaged commando to the normal 'squad' (i dont know if CC is classed as a squad) upon the death of him, keeping it in the same squad. Like adding a black hand leader to a rocket squad? I dont know if this would work, and you've probably tried this but just a thought anyway
hey carnius, i was playing about with worldbuilder, with the Tiberium Essence models etc, and noticed that there is an unused Cyborg Commando model, the legless version. Could this not be used when he gets destroyed, and has a special ability to self destruct or something?
no definitely not a replacement for the ion cannon, just a weaker version, buffing the orca strike would be a good thing also, but i was letting my mind wander, and the old ion cannon from TS only hit one building, therefore i thought it could be re-used as a tactical weapon. Either way its up to Carnius, but i bet he already has some plans of his own
hey carnius, i was thinking how about a tactical ion cannon support power? Remember in TS how the ion cannon was just for taking out one building, not an entire base. Well how about recreating this for Essence. If you do create a Kodiak defensive unique unit for GDI, it could have the ability to target structures for tactical strikes from the ion cannon, which would be really cool!
yet another idea i have thought of. What is going to happen to the old marauder models, as could they not be re-skinned to look less like wild people, and be used as a tier 2 or 3 mutant unit that requires the advanced infantry structure to build (armory/shrine). They can come in groups of 4, with a lieutenant like the new marauders, and can attack air and ground units, basically a stronger version of the original marauders?
Sorry for suggesting all these ideas, as you probably have your own ideas as well, but i think it would be a pretty useful unit, and a good way to recycle old EA models and make them better.
