I love your weapon tilt addon, it's a must-have! I like it so much that I'm currently trying to make compatibility patches and I've a question, if I may.

I have little grasp of what I'm even doing, but I got the M134-Minigun to "kinda" work; meaning, when I load fresh into the game, it's pointed towards me and disappears when it should tilt. Only after I open the debug weapon hud editor does it immediately spin into position, without actually editing anything, and continues to work properly after closing the editor. But next game load, it's backwards again...

I'd like to patch Hisalute's weapon packs
Moddb.com
Moddb.com
and so far, I got the Mk48 and M14DMR to work instantly.
The S&W500; revolver does the same thing the minigun does (and though it looks hilarious when it's pointed in your face, I'd like it to work^^)

What value exactly do I have to I have to look at to patch into a tilt_positions_script?
Sorry for bothering you but it's driving me nuts -.-
Btw if I can work this out, I'll gladly send you the files if you'd like.

Honestly, i kinda got to accept that Bloodsuckers work differently in CS...
It's a prequel after all, and i've begun to keep telling myself that they have undergone some kind of evolutionary regression in the "later" games, making them vulnerable when cloaked.
Yeah, i love STALKER that much.
I'll just forgive its flaws like that at times :D

Just dropping by to say that i am enjoying FF 2.2.1 at the moment.
Works like a charm so far, nothing to really complain about.

Somehow i am under the impression that it is by far the "prettiest"
mod for Clear Sky that i have played to date.
I also especially like the small changes, like the footsteps on different materials,
and the gunshots (mostly) sound very well!
I even play with a crosshair on (which i normally don't in STALKER) just because your's is so... nice. Though it'd be even nicer if the crosshair vanished when pulling a gun, i like to use it to identify friend/foe, which is even more important in CS than it is in any other Stalker, but i feel like a cheap shot when using it in combat...
But that's not really a complaint for me.

Still, i would like to refrain from reviewing that "outdated" version and am now eagerly awaiting the coming of "Clear Skies" and the wonders you will no doubt make it contain.

Keep up the good work!

Hey FatalFunnel,
I'm very glad to see that you're posting updates again - i was already afraid ZOA might have been put on halt.
I've had quite a good time with your mod so far and would love to see it completed, with the last edges straightened out it is going to be a blast!

Your choice of textures, sounds, the hardcore gameplay all suit my taste.

Having to look for spare magazines and hand-loading them might sound tedious for some, and it IS from time to time (when an empty mag disappears or ends up half-full, mostly). But at the same time it supports me in controlling my itchy trigger finger, always worrying i might run out of full mags.
And WHEN run out, oh boy - never were the moments crouching behind a cover more terrifiyng than when you're fiddling around with loose bullets!

Keep up the good work, take your time... But don't leave us hangin' without updates, please ;)

At first glance, i was going to say i'd be an assaulter for my first 2.0-run, as i have grown very used to relying on my knife thanks to MISERY in general... Though Recon sounds rather tempting, taking into account all the nice new possibilities including setting up your own stash... Oh, choices, choices!

Hmmm, all those firearms... The countless different magazines and spare bullets clogging up my inventory...
I cannot help myself but to drool slightly in anticipation of all the micromanaging that awaits me! Seriously, I'm looking forward to that. Just how weird am I, anyway?

I guess I'll have to start a new game for the next update to work at all / have the best gameplay-effects out of it, right?
Damn...
Because, I only just got out of the agroprom underground and shat a metric ton of bricks because of all the suspense and all-out-horror already.

Hats off FatalFunnel,
It's been a while since I "NOPE"'d out of a game of Stalker because of it being so... frightening. Only to come back for more soon after...

Did I mention it looks freakin' amazing?
Can't remember having seen such a magnificent adaptive DoF before; it compliments playing without crosshair and does so beautifully.

Those were just my two cents;
I'll rate ZoA over 9000 once I get a hold of the new shooters.

I get your point; were it the occasional crash once every hour or two we're talking about, I'wouldn't even complain. I save regularly, and I don't really mind re-playing a small passage every once in a while.

On my first time trying out Warmongers, I got to the cordon, and aside of the emission-bug in the beginning, it was stable.
Now, having re-installed the game and mod, the swamps don't want to let me go... I had to try four times before the emission occured to begin with. Then after having assaulted the lookout tower, it would crash on different occasions (walking back to fishing hamlet, back in the clear sky base, on loading saved games), the errorlog always reading different problems with scriptengine.cpp (Sorry, didn't save them all, but can gather some if it helps you).

Guess I'm just complaining because I KNOW that the mod crashes ONLY because it's stuffed too chock-full of awesomeness, to the point where the engine gives up...
Thats like waving a piece of meat before the nose of a hungry wild dog :)

Okay, I think I've had enough now.
Fresh install of game and mod (twice), all patches applied, it crashes over and under. I scrupulously followed your advice on how to prevent crashes and problems and can't seem to get it working properly.
It crashes while stalking, trading, on loading saved games (yes, I respected the 3-minute-delay between saves)...
The only thing reliable about this mod is that it's going to crash :(
Sorry, but I have to say that my rating was premature;
In its current state, I can not derive any pleasure from it.
Please do not take this as an insult though; I'm venting off a bit now, having spent so much of my precious free time without actually playing. I would not have spent hours trying to get it to work if I weren't convinced that it's going to be absolutely great-once you get it stable!
In regard to the sheer amount of stuff that you changed and implemented (and the x-ray-engines general inclination to be unstable in itself)
I'm not going to blame you. I respect your work.
So, I'll follow your mod closely and see if one day, Clear Sky gets the overhaul it deserves :)

Thank you very much for your answer!
Although... That was the first thing I've tried.
I edited those files with a savegame in the Swamps, waited a few in-game days and travelled to the Cordon, the Spawns remained unchanged though...
I guess I'll have to start a completely new game after editing the squad_descr-entries?
Maybe I messed up somehow...
Re-downloading and giving it another try :)

Hey R0adkill,
thanks a lot for the hint - I really WAS using the old download from here.
(Why isn't the 0.43rebuild to be found on moddb anyway?)
So I finally started playing, like it a lot so far - even though I find the economy to be ridiculously easy on me. A few hours in, cash and spare bullets and medicine EVERYWHERE... Well, must be the MISERY-school of hard knocks I've been through that taught me to be frugal with my stuff ;)

Aaah, the LR300...
You know, I was enticed to see a CS-mod with bazillions of new guns.
Then I remembered my first SoC-playthrough way back.
When I found that unique LR300, with a scope and sound-supressor,
I became a walking manifestation of silent death and kept that shooter 'til the very end... Good times. Thanks :)

[PPx]L☢Ner1™, thanks for the info. I'll have to catch up on that when it's done, then!
And to answer your question, theend333,
I guess my grudge with 1.1 was of personal taste to at least some extent.
Although I found visuals rather nice in the beginning, I came to dislike the bloom and the excessive recoil.

I feel a bit stupid now writing that, because I now know that the recoil is something I could have easily tampered with myself.
1.05 gave me a more "polished" out-of-the-box feel.

As for the visual presentation...
Really, it's a matter of personal taste.
And I have little to no doubt that 1.2 will incorporate the best of the two versions, with so much effort already being put into the predecessors.

Go, L.U.R.K-team, go!
You're doing a great job.
Looking at the recent news, I sense something really good coming our way!

Hmm... Am I just dumb, or why can't I rate your mod?
I'd really like to!

Though I'd probably have to rate 1.05 and 1.1 differently...

Tried 1.1 first,
was 70% impressed and 25% annoyed
(with 5% shifting back and forth between the two).

After reading up a bit on the supposedly big difference between versions, I gave 1.05 a try.
My impressed-levels raised to an almost unhealthy high
of approximately over 9000%!

Though I liked many of the 1.1 features,
1.05 just felt better to me...

Looking at the effort you guys are putting in 1.2,
I believe this may very well become my favourite SoC-mod of all times.

Keep up the great work!
