Question: Since Id Software has promised to freeware the Id Tech 4 when Rage comes out, have you planned porting the Dark Mod into a seperate game?

Merc is most likely for show, but I do hope the bartender there looks more like Barman

Have you planned to add flares or glow sticks? Addition to the flash light, they would provide illumination and, if possible, would draw the attention of enemy. A nice inclusion, ofc, they would be rather rare to find, maybe mostly from mercs and military.

Little question considering the whole Zone: About the camps
Anyone can agree that many, maybe most camps in Zone, are quite inconveniently placed. Outdoors, without rain nor wind protection, hardly giving any cover from mutant attacks. It's a real mood killer. Many times, there's a totally water proof house close to the spot etc. etc.

Hope you haven't made the same mistakes like GSC did.

Thanks, could not have said it better. So the 'zoom' should not be zoom caused by scope, but by looking through the sight and having your eyes to focus on the target behind the sight.

Let's kill the sight topic:

Aiming down the sight doesn't improve gun's accurasy. That means the rifling would change in some magical way. Sight allows one to AIM, that's the &¤#@£ point, there is no crosshair in real life.

'Zoom' is a normal feature of the eye. Anyone who doesn't need classes can prove this. Point your finger up against some long distance backgroung. Stare the finger, and background is blurred, stare the background and finger is blurred. Depts of Field is a way artificially create this effect on 2d image, Yet it isn't working properly. Now the Zoom comes in to correspont actual eye feature. I don't like removing zoom, feels like I'm holding the gun with rearstock against my face instead laying my cheek on the stock. (This is one biggest fails in Project Reality. Not that it had something to do with Stalker.)

Des0wave could always put the downgrading trick to the tutorials, I did that once few months ago with given info but forgot it. It had something to do by setting the Windows to recognise the game's version as if it had an older patch, or none. Somewhere at Administrative Tools...

Bloodmarks: just good that they are small and just telling you've been scratched. I hate games where screen turns red when health is low, as if blood would spray through ones chin... Good to keep it minimum. Task: that's the very first one. Sidorovich would be a retard to give an important mission to a complete stranger. I'd say the first on vanilla is even too much of importance, although, I wonder how would Marked One open a flash drive on the Zone. Diversity: Team has proven their capablity to do complex quests. As Dez said, stay calm and wait with patience. Atleast I am.

They'd be the devil itself if they desided to put a pack of rats in places like this ^^

Hmm, I'm seeming to have this bug: everytime I kill a soldier at agroprom underground, game crashes to desktop. Anyone else had this?

You are worried about the time it would take to download this mod?! Damn, you've waited this for years, now you can't wait for few hours? Moddb has great mirrors, I get up to 0.9 Mb/s.

What I'd like to see, would be a sewer system( under Pripyat or Limans for example) Can't get enough of anxious undergrounds and Snorks poppin' out of nowhere. I've lately tried playing with static lighting. HUGE performance improvement without killing the atmo...

btw, are you planning to keep the day-night cycle as a surprise or are you still working on it? Some of the videos have different times of day in same areas. Would it be too much to ask for a video about the cycle?

This may not fit perfectly to this video but: Due to the fact that mod's going to be a huge one, you could cut some unnecessary skins, sounds etc. from main mod and have 'em in an additional pack for those who'd be willing to 'sacrifice' more space from their HDD(and have more variation ofc).
I did like the more pig-like sounds on boar and more squeaky sounds on the rodents. Dogs, well, sound just like dogs :D
That billboard shot from the fall on the other hand... WIP or something? Bounced off wall instead of just falling :D

COP made the mistake of having large open areas but still so little to find from them(timeline may had something to do with it, since places have been looted by stalkers already). And as this is supposed to be the Streloks first trip to center of the Zone, I hope (most) buildings would be lootable, to bring that stalker atmosphere of scavenging.

That's just sweet, since in 1938 built, Darkvalley wasn't finished at all, and the 'final' is a shrinked version. Looking good. Does anyone of the teammembers use Nvidia GeForce 8600 series? I'd like to know how well it would work with this much (amazingly close-detailed) vegetation.
