Block Story

Game review

First hour or so is slow and boring as you slowly grind your way through the first couple of quests that require you to seek out lots of blocks/mobs which are hard to access due to slow mining speed and bad combat ability, but it picks up and becomes great after that. Flying around floating islands, building coliseums with creature spawners, and spelunking downwards forever through hell make this pretty unique!

Depths of Peril

Game review

While definitely not flawless, it's quite fun to play. Each round goes until you're wiped out or every faction is either your ally or dead (you're heavily encouraged toward making them dead). Rounds of the game are as long as you want them to be, making this a great game for playing for an hour at a time or for playing hours on end. The clan warfare itself is small-scale and a bit easy because you can make gates inside the enemies' house, but it's still a challenge if the enemy clan is powerful enough.

The randomized worlds aren't nearly as variable as they could be, with each area in a world being a square--it feels like each area is a reskinning of the last one, rather than something completely different. The randomized quests in each randomized world get somewhat repetitive, as "kill this", "get these", and "find this person" don't offer much interest, but it's possible that higher level games have more interesting quests. Combat is what you'd expect from a Diablo-like game, and it's not significantly bad or significantly good.

The game hasn't crashed on me yet after several hours, but there's still a number of obvious bugs. Some player gates drift every time you use them, buried treasure and soulstones have their tags show up in every area, many abilities are missing text of how they work, and more. They're all luckily minor and not game-breaking, though.

It's all-around great, with good music, voice acting, jokes, and graphics. I kind of wish there was more variation in puzzle solutions, though with the voluntary hint system you'll never get hopelessly stuck if you don't understand a puzzle, unlike some point-and-click games.

DLC Quest

Game review

Underneath its somewhat funny satire, it's just a very short and very basic platformer, even with all DLC. One might say that's part of the joke, but "it's bad on purpose" doesn't really make it worth playing.

Visually unique, but the puzzles have been done before in other games of its kind.

Towns

Game review

Even in its current state and lacking a major planned mechanic (heroes for your town to service), it is great. Apparently it's only 40% complete, too!

Just as a warning: the AI is terribly stupid and suicidal, but losing is fun. Expect your first town to die to something like starving to death in a sea of flour with a table and baker's oven, despite having bread-making orders, because apparently nothing is less important than food.
