The fact you don't like BFME1 style of play (that, to be honest, is the only thing that makes this game different from ALL the other ******* rts games out there, but it seems you haven't noticed it) is your problem.
If you don't like it, go play another game, don't mod the original game or go find another mod.
I can't stand people that says "I don't like that, so it must be a ****** thing".
From what you are saying, the conclusion is that you are simply stupid.
Moreover, if you don't want to play with four factions, WAIT until they release a version with all the other factions, nobody here is forcing you to play this particular version of the mod.
Seriously, saying that a thing is bad or wrong just because you don't like it is the stupidest thing you can do.

I have another question regarding WOTR (forgive me :P)

Is it possible to make the fortress building in the tactical map become an outpost, when next release come out?
Because even if other buildings like barracks and smith do their job well beside not being present in the skirmish map, (and they are not so expensive to build, in any case) the fortress costs 3000 and it does nothing :(
Turning that building into an outpost would do the trick, and it would fit the all outposts skirmishes of the new version :)

Do you think that is it possible?

I really like the idea of the gates closing when a certain amount of enemy troops are nearby, I think it would solve the Merry (or whichever unit can be invisible) gate closer and it would be realistic, I mean, who would close those gates if there is only a little hobbit out there?

Good day Edain, since I didn't get any answer when I posted this yesterday, I'm reposting it here, maybe you didn't notice :)

Regarding WOTR, I already know that it will be possible to use only outposts in next release, and that in the current one camps/castles are simply unavailable for all those reasons Gnomi wrote before (and I completely agree);

My questions are:

1- Does every hero start a battle always with two new soldier battalions by default? Or only when he is alone with no other troops attached?
2- When I build a fortress in the tactical map, that fortress will be available in the real time skirmish? Even in next release with only outposts? And if yes, will it be a castle/camp or a outpost?

I've experienced the same thing on Dol Guldur, I was the attacker too there, destroyed every destroyable object or unit in the entire map (even those spiders in the woods) but the game didn't end

Yeah you're right, I've already learned some of the maps features, the problem is that they are really a lot xD
I would do it myself if I had the opportunity (do you know if I can do it and give the files to you for next update?) I know that they have already a lot of work to do :)

Guys, another suggestion (well, it's not so important but it can be very useful when playing with friends) can you add map features in map description, like the vanilla maps?
Like type of monster lairs, type of settlements that are present, things like that ^^
I repeat, it's not impellent, but surely it can lend an hand when deciding which skirmish to play when you are with friends and wish to play in a particular way or have a particular type of settlement :)

m8, I've been playing 4.0 a lot in these days and I can assure you that it is everything but not boring xD
For the money, if you can play well and you upgrade your resource buildings and defend them well, you can have quite a lot resources fast
At least, to create an entire army (reaching cap) with full upgrades :)
I mean, you only need to learn to play in a different way, the gameplay is faster than bfme1 but slower than vanilla bfme2 (thank god) and yes, the AI is very strong, so it's quite a challenge :)
In the end, beside the bug that prevents from playing war of the ring, this is how bfme2 should have been in my opinion, and for a mod, it is fantastic.

If you played BFME1 you'll know why; In the game, both isengard and mordor used camps instead of castles, to emphatyze the "Evil siege, good is sieged" thing in the movies, it's normal

Guys, just one thing: is it normal that when I play war of the ring, spawning near the settlement that I have to use, I can't activate it and actually build the starting camp/castle?
It's like only the starting camps or castles on the map are not buildable :(
To tell the truth, I don't know if War of the Ring is even supported in this release ^^'
