Loving the new Misty Mountains faction. Playing as the Dwarfs and I am unable to upgrade plots. I am missing something or is there a new feature.

Still a much loved mod. Hopefully we will see the Sobek-class battlestar Thesus in a later release.

Can we expect the MC85 cruiser in the summer release? Will the Rebel Alliance ever get the Recusant Destroyer. The contents is staggering within this mod, always improving.

Is there any chance in the future that we might see the Sheppard and Nimitz class if you can find a role for them. FASA has such a rich variety of ships to choose from for the Four Years War. It must have been hard making your ship choices when there are so many pre-established fan favourites.

The Bulwark Mk 3 is what I was meaning, sorry for any confusion there. I was thinking along the lines of a small titan. I love the template designs for Kuat and Mon Calamari with their own benefits and capturable shipyards. Perhaps a template could made for a Separatist stronghold with it's own capturable shipyard that would allow access to the Providence Carriers and Bulwark Cruisers. Anyway just doing some brainstorming. Regardless if it makes an appearance or not, keep up the great work, it's much appreciated.

First of all I would like to thank you for all the hard work that has gone into this mod. You don't truly start to appreciate how much goes into it until you start modding it yourself. The gameplay is superb and the late game lag is negligible, all in all very well balanced.
Have you considered adding the Bulkwark MK11 class Battlecruiser to the Rebel Alliance as either a late tier capital ship or as a titan, similar in the research tree as the Bellator. As I am new to this page I apologise if this topic has been brought up before.

Yeah, the Minerva class is one of my favourites. Designed to provide better CIC fleet functions than the Jupiter Class and the only ship in the 1st Cylon War that could stand toe to toe with the Hades Class Basestar Mk1A. I too thought that a Battlestar was given it's name by it's design classic layout. Well if you are interested into looking into the fan based side of the things. I will give you some ships to get you started that are better known, some are included in other gaming mods.

It is a minefield when it comes to debating ship classes, their roles and sizes. I tend to get my information straight from the horses mouth as Wikipedia and such sources are often wrong. The only way to do this is to listen to the commentaries from the BSG model designers or read their own production notes which often dispels fan myths.
Armed with a little bit of knowledge we can then shed some light on the ship classes and their roles. Going by Blood and Chrome production notes the ship we refer to as the Valkryie Battlestar is referred to as an 'Early Valkryie Type' and is designed to fulfil the support role of a Light Cruiser. At no point is it mentioned or classed as a Battlestar. The reason to this is quite simple, it doesn't fulfil the requirements to be a Battlestar. A Battlestar must be capable of carrying a minimal of three viper squadrons plus support craft, this is based on peacetime requirements and does not take into account times of war when this could be increased. The 'Early Valkryie type' at 1/2 the size of Galactica is too small a vessel to support such a large airwing.
What fans refer to as the 'Odin Class' is simple referred to as the 'Valkyrie Light Battlestar'. It is a far more advanced designed than it's predecessor and meets the requirements to be a Battlestar. These ships were designed and built after the 1st Cylon War when the Colonial Government no longer wish to spend cubits on the Heavy Battlestars as the Cylon threat had seemed to of diminished and more funds were required for social investments.
So even with looking at the hard facts we still don't have ship class names, though we might know abit more about their roles and specifications.

I would probably give 'Ares Class' to a heavy cruiser, but Minerva is an odd one, as 'Minerva' is already used for the Minerva Command Ship (Galactica/Jupiter Class big Brother). Picture below, this fan design has quite a following and rich history.

I like the concept for how you intend to name ship classes by roles. When naming ship classes for the colonial fleet you really need to look at the individual cultures that represent the 12 colonies and what their beliefs are. So we have ship names coming from Roman, Greek, Egyptian and Norse mythology. For instance if you name classes of ship by interstellar bodies, such as 'Mars', this could be known as the 'Ares class'. A greater deity name would be assigned to a more powerful ship class. An example would be for the Valkryie type Light Battlestar seen in the Fall of the Colonies. Though a smaller ship it is heavily armed, alot of fans call this the 'Odin Class'. This is not to be confused with it's smaller cousin seen in Blood and Chrome, sometimes referred to as the 'Asgard Class'. It's good to see a new lease of life brought into this mod, I wish you all the best in your endeavours.

As the ship seems to have the classic Warstar configuration; Poseidon, Hades and Titan are known ships of this class.

Is there anyway to make the Ragnar Station non-mobile unless you research the upgrade. I have carelessly lost a few stations when they have moved to engage the enemy fleet without support. Thanks

The Reunited Kingdom script will be a welcome addition. The Dunedain Bodyguard/Rangers will always be the heavy hitters and work well at taking trolls down. The stake ability can deal with warg pacts. The only problem you have is when wargs and trolls break your lines and your forced to fall back. I often feel that the rangers require a unit to hold back these attacks whilst they re-position. They rely on skirmish tactics, hit and run to counter the larger force. Militia forces can fill this void early game. The Dunedain have a very different game play from other factions, they are few in number but make up for it with specialist units who can ambush and then fade into the forest. I often use this tactic to chip away at a far larger force. It might take a few turns, but it helps even the odd for the final battle. I like there gameplay as it is all to easy to mass spam militia. I especially like the addition of Cardolans units as they are often neglected in other mods.

Like a lot of people I have been following this mod for sometime and it certainly lives upto expectations. With all the unique factions it certainly brings a more in-depth look to the tactical layout of the different forces during the war of the ring. The mod is not heavily scripted that can often cause errors and slow turn rates. This certainly helps increases playability that can often be a let down in some other mods. I have been playing the Northern Dunedain campaign and I like how they have kept there forces scattered over a fast area with a limited population count. Some of the settlements have locked population as the Dunedain were in decline after the fall of Arnor. Hopefully when Dunedain recapture there former settlements of old and Aragorn becomes King they will re-emerge as the Arnor faction and the population will be unlocked on these settlements to symbolise there rise to power. I know in the future patch or next release you will be removing a lot of the high tier units until later in the game. One unit I would like to see in the Dunedain roster is a ranger troll hunters/beast slayers. Most factions struggle fighting trolls unless they use the right strategy, the rangers of the North are highly skilled at hunting them. They could take the form of an elite archer or spearman who could throw a limited amount of spears. If you have watched Born of Hope the fan made movie there is a good scene where Lord Arador leads a group of rangers spearman to hunt down a troll.

How will the secondary factions work? Would you have to conquer for instance the Lyran homeworld to gain access to there ships. If this was the case how would the politics comes into play. The hydran kingdom would unlikely build ships for say the Klingon Empire due to forced occupation. On the other hand the Gorns might build ship for the Romulans due to their exchange of technology. The federation would have good ties with the Gorn and Hydran, but poor ties with Lyran.

There is no doubting that the ship is heavier armed than a constitution class heavy cruiser. This is a nice link to the ships schematics that clearly shows the extra fire power.

A very realistic model. It will be interesting to see the ships weapon layout as it was experimental heavy cruiser. Ventral pulse phasers and multiple torpedoe launchers. Though to look at the ship it looks no heavier armed than a constitution class starship.
