Brutal Doom is not a standalone Doom engine game. It is a mod so yes you do need an IWAD from Doom, Doom 2, or Final Doom.
First everyone thought it would release at midnight GMT +1 and then they think it's midnight GMT -5. I think it will release whenever the developers want it to release.

If this was a retail game, then I'd definitely buy it despite it being on an old game engine. I'm going to buy Half-Life for my friend then we're going to play co-op on this when it's released. I voted for this so good luck on Mod of the Year!
I wonder how much work could 5% possibly be? I'm just really anxious to play this. :P
The head bobbing and weapon animations are definitely ridiculous in this. I can hardly hit a damn thing with the melee weapons because the camera moves and I end up hitting the ground or something. This mod is purely plagued with realism and that ruins games. Also, where the hell is the fast weapon switch setting? I'm gonna get killed often because I have to press so many number keys then click the mouse to switch to the weapon I want. The mod is great, but please fix these issues so that it can be more playable.
I only hope the audio is as good as the visuals. The creepy noises in Afraid of Monsters were what really scared me. Like whispering, sudden loud noises, background music, etc. :)

Everything about this mod is making it look better than Afraid of Monsters especially the higher poly models. I check up on this mod every once in a while and love what I see each time. :)
Do you guys have an estimated release date? I really loved Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut and I'm sure this will be really awesome also. I'm just asking for a guess on the release date. It doesn't have to be a specific day or month. :)
