No, this is quite an old map and appears to only be for vanilla BF2. I don't think I've ever seen this one with different layers, though. Might have to check it out!
Beautiful modelling work and textures! I don't think I've ever seen a model this well-made for any sailing ship. Very nice!
Wow, I thought it would be a bit longer before the release. Very nice looking additions! You just caused WIC to monopolize my gaming time for the forseeable future again.
Very nice! Beautiful models and textures all the way around. The mod's looking great, keep it up guys!
You need to give at least some details if you want there to be any chance of someone being able to help you.
Yes, create that directory and paste the zip file contents there.
Looks like it could be interesting. I've never seen a mod tackling this particular era, and it's always nice to see the African wars better represented. Definitely downloading!
This looks like exactly my kind of game. I'll definitely be watching this, it looks very interesting. Good luck, guys!
That's weird, the mod works fine for me. Vanilla BF2 doesn't crash for you at all? If it does it might be something with compatibility, it's an old game after all. If you're not getting error messages though there's not much I can suggest other than running BF2 as an administrator with compatibility mode for WinXP or, if that doesn't fix it, reinstalling the mod.
Do you get any error messages? If so, what do they say? Did you download all the parts and install them in order?
This looks like it could be a very interesting mod. I like the unique setting and factions, not many BF mods do Africa (except maybe POE, but that was a long time ago.) Good luck with this!
Does anyone know how to change the bot names in this? I tried using winRFA to edit the botnames.con files (which works fine for BF1942) but for some reason it didn't change any names in-game.
Try overwriting your menu_server.zip file with the one called menu_server_patch.zip. I had the same problem as you until I did that.
This mod looks great. It's nice to see such underrepresented wars given some love here. Keep up the good work!
I'd love to play this, but unfortunately, I am having some trouble getting the mod working. I installed .15 and patched it to .17, but for some reason I get an instant CTD whenever I try clicking on "create local server" to start up co-op. Any clue what the issue might be?
EDIT: Wow, that was actually pretty easy. It appears you guys included a .zip file called "menu_server_patch.zip" that was meant to replace the original "menu_server.zip." Since it wasn't named the same thing, the original remained, and renaming the zip and overwriting the original fixed the CTD issue.
No, this is an addon map. The client contains everything but the levels, and the download for those is right above it in the list.
Does your computer have an administrator account on it? If so, try logging in with that and try to play BFV. If you don't have an admin account, try making one. Another option is to right-click on the BFV exe file, go to the "compatibility" tab, and check "run as administrator." Then try to run the game. You should get a dialog box shortly after, and if you don't have an admin account it *should* just let you click "yes" to run the game.
This is great news! I found this a while ago, back when it was dead. I was quite disappointed, because I've never really seen any game tackling the Korean War. I wish you all good luck and wait eagerly for more news!
It's been a little while since your comment but just in case you haven't found a solution, you should be able to change the bot numbers in much the same way as with vanilla BF2. Just go to the mod folder, then to the AI subfolder, and edit the bot numbers (and difficulty if you with) in the aidefault.ai file. This will override all menu options pertaining to bots. I believe it has trouble supporting more than about 200 or so bots, but honestly that would probably be too many anyways!
But if you already know how, I'm not sure if I've just told you a bunch of stuff you already know. If I did, what problem exactly are you having with your bots? I *might* be able to help still.
You can run it on LAN against bots if that's what you're asking. I'd expect it is not compatible with the campaign, not many WIC mods are.
People usually navmesh the new maps within several months from release. Look for an SP patch on the warumdarum.de forums at some point.
People usually navmesh the new maps and put out a SP patch after the release. No idea exactly how long it will take but I would expect it to take a while.
Extract the mod folder to your BF2/mods directory with 7-zip or some other utility. Make sure it's the actual mod folder (it should have subfolders like "levels" for example.) After installation, you can activate the mod by starting BF2, going to the Community tab, and clicking on Custom Games. It should be in the list of mods you can activate. Simply activate the mod and you can play! If you want to have more than 16 bots in your games, go into the BF2/mods/alphaproject (or whatever the mod folder is called)/ai directory and edit aidefault.ai. It should have instructions for how to change the bot numbers.
Given the single line that the guy used to describe his problem and the fact that I don't use AMD cards, it was the best answer I could give. If you ask random-*** people on the internet for tech support you should take their answers with a grain of salt anyway. I am also sorry to say that I'm not quite flexible enough to **** myself. Sorry about that.
It would be quite nice to see this mod continue even after the shutdown. I mostly played on LAN mode anyway. Of course I can also see why you guys might not want to continue modding for a game with such a troubled future. Even so, I'm looking forward to the next release, and hoping it won't be the last!
They've already got a huge amount of the war covered. Poland would require a massive amout of work to add in (they'd have to make an entirely new faction with vehicles, and make maps for it as well.) Tobruk is covered, they modified the original map. You can find Tobruk along with the other original maps such as the Battle of Britain at the bottom of the map list. Narvik is also covered, it's like the 5th map on the list. (One way to find certain battles- the numbers before each map correspond to the date of the battle. 0639 would mean the battle was fought in June 1939.)
Probably what the error means is that your actual BF1942 version is wrong. I don't think it's talking about your mod. Patch your game to the latest version and try running the mod again, that should work.
I'm not sure exactly what conditions need to be met to spawn aircraft from the FOB, but the game looks at your FPS for one thing. If you're getting messages saying 'Aircraft spawn fail" you should lower your graphics settings to get more FPS. If it's too low, aircraft will not spawn. It also seems to take some time for aircraft to spawn, so don't expect to place an FOB and have jets flying everywhere immediately.
Hey guys, seeing what's happening to Massgate, I was wondering if you will continue development of the Modern Warfare Mod. I hope you do, because this is probably the most technically impressive mod I've seen for any game and I absolutely adore the work you guys have done so far. I sincerely hope that this mod is able to live on after the death of the original game. Even if it doesn't however, this mod (and WIC) will always have a place on hard drive as the most visceral and realistic depiction of modern warfare I've seen outside of ArmA. Great work!
I never use the D:/ drive, so I have no idea how to get it working there.
They do already have the T90 and T80, and as Vladapo said the Leopard was put in with the last update. Given that NATO already has the Abrams and the Leopard I would not hold my breath for a Challenger, no matter how cool that would be.
