How could it be running on 2013 if it came out in 2010?
Source Engine 2007 was indeed missing the multi-threading option.
Source Engine 2013 and above do include this feature, therefore this problem will be resolved once we have switched to the new engine.
There's an article on this very page that answers your question, here's a quote :
"This means that the 2013 version of Underhell will be released on Steam, when it's ready to go up there.
This means a lot of extra work for us, as we will have to create, replace and improve the assets of the game to make sure they are up to standards."
As for the character models, we are looking into it, but it's not as straightforward as modeling weapons.
There already are trophies in the game, if you go in the garage in front of the house after finishing it, you will find some trophies based on your actions.
These will probably be turned into steam achievements.
That's the intention, although we might need to do some changes to the engine overtime which might make saves incompatible.

Prologue was about 650 MB to download, and chapter 1 is 1.5 GB, which is barely double the size for 10 times the content.
What takes up a lot of space are models and textures, Levels tend to compress well on source.
I can't imagine the final thing being over 5 GB, and that would hardly be the "biggest mod" in byte size on ModDB.
I cannot wait for this game, I loved every Mount and Blade games, and I am very excited for this sequel.

If you grab the barrel with your hands, when the gun goes up because of recoil your hands could slip.
Putting your fingers in the grip, and actually gripping it, gives you greater control over the vertical recoil.

The game is not really made for that, disabling all the cameras would take many dangerous steps, and many events of cutscene wait for a camera to reach a position before the scene continues.
If the camera is disabled, then it will never reach the position, and the cutscene will be stuck.

Try launching Source SDK Base 2007 from the tools tab of your Steam Library.
It might ask you to convert it to a new format.

Go in your Steam Library/Tools tab, and launch Source SDK Base 2007 at least once.
If it asks you to "convert it" to a more efficient format, that was your issue.

Just downloading Steam allows you to download Source SDK Base 2007, and that's all you need to play.
Virtually anyone on the planet can play this for free, as long as they have the "minimum requirements"
