Empire at War Expanded: Thrawn's Revenge

Mod review

A nine out of ten, here's why:

-Readability is very good (something a lot of mods forget is necessary in an RTS)

-One of the most interesting eras that play to the strengths of the RTS genre (having multiple enemies all fighting eachother and you)

-Tons of maps, and GCs

- Ground Combat has been significantly improved since the earlier patches and is now fun to play in most instances

-While its not the most graphically advanced mod, it still looks really good and the art direction makes things standout against the environment and other units better than most mods.

-Tons of different factions to play as with ever increasingly unique tech trees (as the patches go along) (Corporate Sector has become one of my favorite factions to play as, for intance)

-The Mod devs tend to be polite, friendlyand when there's a problem with teh mod, instead of flying off the handle and blaming the user end, they usually try to explain or simply fix the problem in another patch (which is surprisingly rare in the EAW mod community these days)

Excellent mod, that's constantly improving tons of features I didn't even mention (like the instant action thing that's being worked on) and is just fun to play, as well as pretty challenging at times.

Dreamcast Conversion

After spending HOURS figuring things out on my own, if you have any exception errors, uninstall and reinstall the C++ Visual basic 2015/2017 versions

With that done, this modloader works fine.

Contra

Mod review

Would've been a decent mod if it didn't crash at random FREQUENTLY, then it got a point where it decided never to launch again and I'm in NO mood to jump through 133489284532 hoops to ******* reinstall and reapply patches an all of that annoying circus **** just to get this already unstable mod to work.

Awakening of the Rebellion 2.8

Mod review

Greatest mod that i've ever played, despite lengthy load and save times and the inconvenience of having to rebuy the steam version of EaW its still worth it due to just how well put together the mod is.

The economy is honestly the best part of it, as you're always strapped for cash and have to play extremely strategically to make progress.

The nature of this mod's game design is the epitome of RTS.

Republic at War

Mod review may contain spoilers

I really wanted to give this a higher rating, because of all the work that was put into this, but there's significant problems.

First of all The AI will attack 35289593439 times which means I can't move my forces around before being attacked, now keep in mind these attacks are actually usually really weak, which just makes them an annoyance rather than a challenge.

Secondly Auto-resolve is horrible by far worse than usual, which means you are FORCED to fight the tiniest most pathetic enemy fleets that attack you every few seconds.

Finally, the ground battle are a joke as the Republic, everything they have sucks aside from the Jedi, CIS HMPs clearly were not looked at during recent patching as they are diabolically hard to defeat even with stuff that's SUPPOSED to counter it.

All in all, a good mod in many ways but needs MASSIVE amounts of polish.

Rise of the Reds

Mod review

Really great mod that feels like a proper SEQUEL to Generals, however I had to deduct a few points due to it being a bit unstable (lag) and will sometimes crash, still the best mod for this game.

Star Wars Alliance Rebellion

Mod review

The most unstable mod i've ever played in any video game even when you get it to start (which takes FOR EVER) it crashes 99% of the time after a few seconds of play.

not to mention the dev is kind of a jerk and mismanaged the entire project.

Too unstable to play, it gets a ONE because it does have good ideas, but good ideas that cannot be played with for more than like 8 seconds.
