Developed by Blizzard following the sucessful WarCraft series, Starcraft is undoubtably one of the most innovative and popular RTS games to hit the market. Introducing for the first time three races all completly unique yet perfectly balanced, this made for some fantastic gameplay with zergling rushes, to siege tank massacres. With starcraft having such a cult following there are bountiful mods available from simplistic character changes to new scenarios, and challenges to face. The fact that Starcraft has been game of the year sums up just how good this game is, so crank it up if you are not already playing it!

This is by far the most difficult RTS I've ever played. I like the 3 races and how balanced they are. Most of the RTS are monotonous in their gameplay, but because this one got different kind of missions it doesn't get boring quickly. The graphics are not so crappier considering the game was released on 1998. However, once you finish all the missions, the fun of this game diminishes.
Many years ago, I've liked this game even when I played it with cheats, but now I don't think this should be done, otherwise all the potential of the game erose away. Another bad thing is the crappy story that neither years ago nor now I think it calls the attention. Despite all the negative aspects, Starcraft is a game that won't dissapoint the new ones at RTS games and, because was one of my favorites when I was a kid, I consider that it shouldn't be rejected right away.

It might be arguable if StarCraft is the best game ever, but it is definitively the best RTS game ever.
