Alliance are a serie of different mods. On the Star Wars GC, you can play the civil war Empire vs Rebel era + Black Sun and soon the Republic and CIS.

The maker of the mod have no respect for people playing it, and doesnt allow even to download latest version... And he bans people for critisizing mistakes!

But about mod. Its absolutely unbalanced and unstable. And there are no updates uploaded here... Yes, i know that they are on third-party site, but why would you post mod here then?

You can't even download the mod from this site, and then you have to register at his site in order to even download it. But you can't even register at the site! Let alone apparently you have to get approved by him to be able to access the site. This model for mods is complete trash and doesn't belong on ModdB

The mod has so much promise but is generally unplayable rubbish. The mod will crash at least once every hour and sometimes even more often. The designer is an egomaniac who calls anyone who has a problem with the mod an idiot rather than trying to actually fix anything.
This has been consistently broken and is getting worse with every patch he releases because, rather than actually fixing bugs, he adds more content which creates bugs.
Avoid.

I'm like another person who gave the mod a 1/10. While he said he would give the mod 8/10 if he were so inclined, I however would be giving the mod a 5/10. My reasons are as follows:

While there is an abundance of units, I do recognize models from other well-known modders and mods. I will copy what that user said here in quotes: "He has blatantly utilized the work of others palming off models from some of the greatest works the EaW community has seen as his own whilst claiming that the work is free from any kind of rights infringement due to the fact that it is part of the greater LucasArts label." He goes on to say that Nomada_Firefox is correct in claiming that a lot of the work is free from rights infringement. He also says that Nomada needs to respect his fellow man.

This brings me to my next point; Nomada_Firefox himself. Many, many others have already said this, but it bears repeating. Despite all the work done on FOC Alliance, Nomada will not acknowledge any criticism. Several users have A., suggested things to make the mod better, or B., intellectually criticized and pointed out the mod's faults. Nomada's response is usually "You're doing something wrong", "Please go to my site to ask this question", and... yeah, that's basically it. While these responses aren't too bad, when people ask what they're doing wrong, he either doesn't answer or directs them to his site's forums, even if they can't find the solution to their problem there. Nomad is antagonistic and hostile. Small requests get shot down faster than a Y-Wing heading into a swarm of TIE Interceptors. Some responses and PMs are even quite childish.

The next issue is with his site, Firefoxccmods.com. It has a ton of ads, it's difficult to navigate, and it is the only place where you can download the latest version of the mod. It may take you days to get registered to the site. This is extremely frustrating. It took me four days. This is not helpful to fans or newcomers. Moddb.com is exactly that - a database and practical hub for almost every mod for many games. Not providing those who want to download the latest version in a place where they would expect to find it is not being user friendly. You may not be selling the mod, but it's bad customer service. Let's see if an example will help. You go to your local Wal-Mart to buy potting soil; it's difficult to find, but you manage to find it eventually and take a bag to checkout. Checkout then tells you that you could have just gone to your local home and garden store to get the same thing with better quality much more quickly and easily. That's what it's like going to Nomada's site instead of making a quick run to Moddb. Why do something so difficult and frustrating when there's an easier way? Why not just put the latest version on Moddb? It's not like Nomada loses anything (except his site which doesn't need to exist when all the mods on there could be put on Moddb).

I once again return to talking about the mod. It's fun, I won't deny that. But there are a few issues I have. First and most important is the overworld scaling. You can't see crap. In space combat, you can only find your fighters by clicking on their icons in the field. I want to see my fighters flying and fighting without having to resort to using the battlecam. Otherwise, I just see random tiny lasers going seemingly nowhere. But I do think I know why the fighters are so small other than the overworld scaling. It's all about the big ships. That's right, the only real visible things in space combat are your big flying hunks of metal. I love seeing my Star Destroyers bearing down on an unsuspecting Rebel fleet as much as the next guy, but part of the awe is diminished when I can't see the countless squadrons of TIEs screaming alongside them. On the Rebel side of things, fighters are the Rebellion's strength. Four Star Destroyers? B-wings and Y-wings can take care of that, no problem. I want to see my spac

Creator Nomada_Firefox has no respect for Users. You can only download it latest version on his site and of course some countries are pernamently blocked.Mod uses content from many other people but he is arguing that he did everything.Mod is very unstable probally because it uses poorly writen script that of course aren`t his.Mod is very unbalanced. And why the hell would You do site her if You only release mods on You junk site.

It is the year 2022 as I write this reivew.
Some of you may have seen my old reivew from 2015 under my older username isa005. In this review I gave FOC Alliance 1/10. I wrote this review a very long time ago after a series of regretable interactions with the mod's devs with myself and the community. If you would like to understand more about that, you can find all of that in other reviews all from around 2015-16.

Since I wrote that review we've all done allot of growing up and much has changed. While I'm not all that much fan of FOC Alliance anymore, the devs have gone a long way to improve their work. This being said, it is by no means perfect and there are other mods out there that do what FOC Alliance does better. However, one cannot deny the hard work, personal time and effort that has gone into FOC Alliance over the years. It has miraculously kept pace with the more notable mods out there like EaWX, Remake and AOTR and remains one of the most popular mods for EaW to date.

It is because of these facts that I have decided to change my review to a 7/10.

There are times when you get trolled. Downloading this mod is one of those times.

I think it will be enough to quote what other people said about this mod. I read many posts and comments written by the creator and he gave me a really negative impression, he doesn't seem helpful and he responds in an obnoxious and bored way. Creator aside, I registered to his site to download the newest versione and played it for some hours, there are yes a lot of contents but it's just a mess of highly unbalanced units and factions where the only effective strategy to win is to buy specific op units, boring. The skirmishes are simply pointless since you can almost instantly upgrade your base to level five and wreck your enemy, also the hard ai spawns even bigger spaceships from nowhere causing lagg and crashes because they have of course tons of weapons. The visual is terrible because it gives a bad 3d perception and some units and structures simply disappear when you get too far. The galactic conquest view is horrible and the images of units and buildings in the hud are often too little or fuzzy and the planets in the minimap are just too big and just overlap. Really, i can't find a single reason to suggest this mod to someone, it's just like a cauldron and sometimes the contents are not even his work

I would give a 0 if i could, cant even register on the stupid website. Terrible.

Acts like a child when someone is fixing what he had literal years to fix.
