are the Gatling guns TMD? i always did find it silly why an advanced defensive race used Gatling guns for TMD. they are soo better suited for PD. and besides a gatling gun should be able to sweep across T1 units and not focus fire targets :P (although focus fire is good it should just be smart enough to sweep across low hp units and kill them all >:D)

thats the thing. i don't regard the Aeon as a very powerful race in general but by god they did have some super units. best ASF's some really good exp's and they had good alpha damage overall. i personally always saw there commander as a sit back with the base sort of commander and have a whole bunch of shields for anti snipe

something interesting i thought of would be that you could have the option for fire all the cannons at once or sequentially that could be controlled by a button. like it could surface and then fire normally or you could click a button and it would fire all 3 cannons at once but the reload time would be that of a single cannon making a full rotation and then when you switch back and forth it would wait until all cannons are reloaded to fire again. that way if you are attempting to siege a base you can drop a quick powerful shot to try and snipe a little chunk but runt he risk of having the shields you just dropped (if you dropped enough to get through)recharge but in rapid fire mode you may not get a shield down right away but once you do get it down a few shot will get through. idk i think that such a thing may have a use

EDIT: oooh and will there be a hardened pd mode for it?

i really like all three designs and how the uef have modern day aspects in their military but also have future type spinoffs. like that carrier. it resembles the modern day carriers very well but the hanger gives it a nice aspect of the future. when i saw the designs i was very interested in the science vessel and i honestly think i like the main design of it where you can't see the second pontoon thingy. i think it would look a bit better with only 1. the cruiser seems a bit "empty" i like it but it just needs a bit more textural things.

Heres an idea to counter the hover tank threat.
i think you should have a unit buildable from the naval factory that is a T1 Direct Fire Hovercraft. the unit should have several weaker small cannons that can be designed to rip apart smaller numbers of land units. although it tends to have trouble with larger/tougher units. it should have a relatively inaccurate set of guns but very quick rate of fire. this would allow for the "splash" damage necessary to deal with land units but it would have trouble with singular sea units/land experimentals or things like high health tanks. by being a hover unit it can travel on land BUT there should be a way that it cannot handle hills and therefore can't go everywhere that a normal land unit can as to not make it too powerful. ideally it would be great early game but as the tanks get stronger and the big ships come out (and the experimentals)it would lose it's usefulness other than a nice support craft and attack craft when the bases are exposed. maybe give it low health to balance it a bit
