Eh, a little late but it should work just fine for Canadians. Maybe the files were corrupted form a bad mirror. Try other mirrors.

Sadly though they don't include Source SDK base, the thing you need to play mods. If I were you though I would just shell out $10s and buy Half Life 2 Episode 1. The SDK base is included in it.

Or just buy the Orange Box. Five games for the price of one, its a bargain.

To fix your problem you need to download 1.1.2 and install it. Then download the 1.1.3 patch and install that. That should fix your problem.

Would you care to try it out first.
