Makes sense. However, I want to know one thing. How did you make it so when you go to a door the screen goes black and puts you in the next room? Also, how did you do that screen overlay with the password?
I'm just asking because a friend of mine wants to make a silent hill styled mod (different than thins one) and we can't figure out how to do that. You could send me a note or something.
I think a few months ago a friend and I messed with the third person camera and walking movement and were able to match up to the Silent Hill camera pretty well for third person, along with turning speed and such.
Pretty much what I'm saying is an optional third-person mode would be pretty cool.
"INFRA is a Portal 2 total conversion mod which features gun free story-based puzzle solving, lots of side stories and secrets to explore and stunning visuals that aim for realism."
Total Conversion means it's only using the game as a base, gun free means you don't get a portal gun or any gun at all.
can you send me a PM with a screenshot of how you installed the mod?
Looking forward to this, it looks like you guys are really pushing the limits of the GoldSource engine.
Not a windows problem. That message is saying what is wrong with the program.
eveything is fully updated, everything was installed correctly. It launched once and crashed right after the actual games box shows up.
No real error, but windows says the following.
"Fault Module Name: StackHash_a7aa
Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0
"
might be a little late. But, yes I saw both of the hacks, it didnt make any sense why you guys were hacked. And the mod was looking really cool, and still does.
actually you type in
sv_cheats 1;firstperson;asw_hide_marine;asw_controls 0;asw_debug_marine_aim 1
and then it will be first person with fps aiming and shooting.
but Black Mesa Source is on the Source Engine, which is what Half-Life2 uses.
The idea sounds awesome, hope you can pull it off.
it's a recreation of the beta maps.
Episode 1 is going to be a recreation of the beta story.
I's ok if it's delayed. It's just that the project seemed to get very quiet.
could we have a small update on progress, it's been a couple of months and it will keep people watching.

singing is terrible... her voice cracks too much.
my god.. you're an idiot... you just drop it like that!
Dude... Still Alive was a port of the Portal Flash Version Map Pack For Portal...
voted, played 1.5.1, and it's pretty cool.
Oh, and I voted.
can you guys get rid of the scrolling text.. it's hard to read, it goes by to fast. and it's really really really really really annoying.
Oh forgot to mention something else. In Half-Life2, when you look at the newspaper clippings in Eli's Lab, Eli mentions that because Breen arranged the surrender of Earth, the combine named him Administrator...
I can find the direct quote, but this line from the Combine OverWiki sums it up nicely.
"At the end of the Seven Hour War, he "negotiates" a peace agreement with the Combine that saves humanity, but at the cost of enslavement. Breen is first appointed "Interim Administrator", then simply becomes ruler of Earth - mostly a puppet of the Combine who have little physical presence on the planet."
There is only one problem with this story for the mod.... The seven hour war started when the Citadels appeared from the ground.
Let me quote Half-Life2: Raising The Bar, as in the book they explained how the war started.
"There was an illusion of safety, for a time. And then the Citadels appeared. It happened in a split second, all over the world. A chunk would disappear from the center of a city, to be replaced an instant later by one of these... headquarters for the Combine. Invasion Central."
Before those lines they explained that people were forced into cities to attempt to avoid the teleporting aliens from Xen.
So, the Combine got to Earth by teleportation of their Citadels.
