If you just formatted the hard drive your files are still there, they will only be lost when new data is written on them.

Gokiller, recover files from a hard drive is very easy,
when you format it the data is still there, only the address is deleted, there are several ways to retrieve them, but the easiest is to use a simple program that you can find free and easily on the internet :)

Equal in real life hueh, I think is not easy as in the native.

I think you can switch to the old version in English, if I remember correctly there is a folder with the old file.
