Thanks for your message katyusha23! No, CNC2142 will not feature original CNC3 maps due to design reasons. However, all original Northern Strike maps will be included and we have been working on one of them lately, as a matter of fact. I hope this answers your questions! :)
We've actually had two limited friends and family alpha runs almost a year ago. It depends on how much progress the team makes in the next few months, but we currently do expect to release our first public beta sometime in the fall this year. Hope this helps!
we are currently working on all the background balancing, so it should be out in a few months. we want to make sure our first public release is at the highest level of quality that everybody will appreciate. :)
No worries, we check the mod page every day. ;) Currently, the team is working on a lot of background balancing like armour, damage, speed, primary + secondary weapons, etc - all of which are things that just don't "show" until our upcoming trailer is released. :)
Wow, thank you so much for your support! You have no ideas how much the team appreciates all the comments and feedback that you guys give! With 2 official maps finally finished, we will be focusing our efforts on building unlocks for units and balancing them as well, for a quicker public release. I'd say give us a few months, we don't want to release something half-baked! :)
Thank you MegaMounds, community support is definitely what keeps us going! Now that we have two fully completed maps of different variety in gameplay and visual style, we will be focusing our efforts on balancing game units and so on for a near public release!
Comrade GrigorStoyanovich, terribly sorry for the delay! There have been a few sudden change of plans which took me some time to deal with - starting units in skirmish and LAN modes have not been forgotten!
Most original CNC3 buildings are kept in our testing version, but they will be removed in our public release, unless the community requests otherwise. Hope this helps! ;)
sorry haha, i suddenly had some personal change of plans to deal with the past few weeks.. flying back to USA, moving house and so on :) give me a day!
Oh, how come? SC2 is a difficult game, especially when you take it online - but you should try C&C3's singleplayer AI in Easy-mode paired with the turtler or steamroller personalities ^_^
They give players a good amount of time to build up friendly forces, and still able to put up a reasonably good challenge as the match goes on - definitely a good enemy for new players to get pro in the game!
Haha yup we know exactly what you mean :D even though Battlefield supports all-out vehicle combat, infantry gameplay has always remained as the key gameplay element. In CNC2142, you will be able to use all the unlocks that you've grown to love in the original BF2142, so RDX bombs, EMP grenades, recon drones.. you name it, we've got it ;)
And good news! CNC2142 is designed to integrate CNC3's native AI right from day 1, so yes, all existing CNC3 AI styles are available right now as we speak. :D They are currently tweaked to give a bigger infantry focus, too. ;) Keep the comments coming!
public beta information is yet to be announced, but definitely coming soon considering the project is coming along quite nicely. stay tuned, we'll let you know as soon as it's ready! :D
we actually took a few shots of the map, but we have since then made some pretty significant changes so they have to be redone haha.. expect to see to see our update around the coming week :D
Yup! We have completed two so far, both of which are BF2142 remakes painstakingly designed to portray the original gameplay environments as accurately as possible.
The first map is called Cerbere Landing. It is a medium-sized snow map with both urban areas and more hilly, natural spaces for a blend of vehicle and close-quarter infantry warfare. It features some of the most natural, detailed terrain ever created for the SAGE engine, so make sure to check it out in our pictures gallery!
The second map, which we are about to demo, is called Sidi Power Plant. It is the winner of our community poll and I can see why. It was one of the maps in the original BF2142 demo, and featured one of the biggest playable areas in Battlefield history back then. Sidi Power Plant for CNC2142 will retain much of the same visual style and a very similar desert setting, with both urban areas and more wide-open spaces for tank, jet and even Titan combat.
Look forward to our Sidi Power Plant updates soon! ;)
thank you for your support :D we have been taking out time with the mod, but everything is starting to pay off now. amazing graphics, properly scaled performance for even the weaker laptops, great unit customization options, fantastic maps and crazy destruction mechanics..
everything is coming together great, and we have a series of fanstastic updates coming for all of you! :)
we have been pretty busy with summer quarter, but luckily done quite a lot of work on CNC2142 too. expect to see a new set of updates on Sidi Power Plant, Titan Mode and public beta release soon ;)
We spent some time to specially optimize the in-game map environment. As a result, maps in CNC2142 are much more raw, natural and high-detailed compared to the average CNC3 maps. ^^ When you play CNC2142 in-game, it gets even better!
it's not too difficult, we mastered it ;)
