For me you can't beat STALKER. I have tried pretty much every game out there but have found none that put me where this game does. I start playing and get lost in a world that can be both beautiful and terrifying. I remember my first visit to the Yantar lab in SHOC. It was in the early hours of the morning, I was using headphones while sneaking around the lab. The atmosphere had me on the edge of my seat. Ten seconds later something totally unexpected happened and put my heart in my mouth. I paused the game, shaking like a little child and from that moment on for me it has been the stick by which all games are measured. And sadly they just don't measure up. STALKER is a thousand games in one. Set in a constantly changing, evolving world. The only time any two playthroughs are the same is when you hit that ENTER THE ZONE button at the start of the game.

This mod is hard, very hard. You can't go into it expecting to play it like the game or the majority of other mods. But isn't this what mods are meant to do? Challenge us and force us to do things differently.

The best mods make the biggest changes and this falls into that category. A total rebuild with many things never seen in STALKER before.

Try it and as long as your prepared to deal with something different you won't be disappointed.

Don't misunderstand me this is still unmistakeably STALKER.

EDIT:
I've been playing this mod for a good 12 hours in total now and it is definitely worth the screaming and hair pulling it starts with. I managed to reach the far off starting point and it's become a fun and interesting mod to play.

Awesome final installment with the potential for modding greatness.

The downsides, It is too short and when you do jobs in certain places you end up with an empty area afterwards. But Modding is the answer and mods like MSO solve that particular problem.

One of the very few mods worth a ten, I mean come on look what they've done with it. It's no longer SHOC. It's another game set in the same area. And mods like this are few and far between, even now in 2012.
