For me you can't beat STALKER. I have tried pretty much every game out there but have found none that put me where this game does. I start playing and get lost in a world that can be both beautiful and terrifying. I remember my first visit to the Yantar lab in SHOC. It was in the early hours of the morning, I was using headphones while sneaking around the lab. The atmosphere had me on the edge of my seat. Ten seconds later something totally unexpected happened and put my heart in my mouth. I paused the game, shaking like a little child and from that moment on for me it has been the stick by which all games are measured. And sadly they just don't measure up. STALKER is a thousand games in one. Set in a constantly changing, evolving world. The only time any two playthroughs are the same is when you hit that ENTER THE ZONE button at the start of the game.
Tejas at GSC posted about this article in PC gamer USA.
Wait! a positive review in PC gamer, let alone for STALKER.
The top magazine in my country also had a highly positive review, with only one or two minor 'complaints', that the water isn't at the standards of it's time and that there isn't much water in a zone where it rains/storms often
You couldn't have chosen a better title for this upload.
Always nice to see Stalker in media
Link, please?
There wasn't any particular info just this pic of his copy of PC gamer, you can view original to read the article.

So is this a review of some mod? The screenshots clearly show a mod being played. The article mentions the death message is "Lost in the Zone" when it's really "Game Over" in retail. It just strikes me as a little misleading because he isn't reviewing the original retail game.
He's probally using a so called graphical mod like Complete, Which is fair enough but your right he should of at least mentioned it.
Most of what he's saying is about the game itself (gameplay) though not about the visuals etc.

Reminds me a little of War Z except not a ripoff piece of s**t. I've tried the Stalker Online beta and it seems alright but needs a lot more work (obviously its beta), but I don't like it because a) its third person and b) you throw rocks instead of bolts (!!!)
The rocks make sense easier to find etc but 3rd person spoils it which is a shame.
