A coder and a gamer. One day both of those hobbies merged together. I love to inject my odd style of humor in anything I do.
So, we mention Dual Reality on the podcast, and a few days later an update comes out. Good timing or great timing?
Downloaded as soon as I saw. Can't wait.
...Wasn't it free BEFORE this?
I love reading things like this, it gives a good idea of what was going through your head when making the mod. Plus, you were completely honest about losing attention for your project and coming back to it after being inspired. Not many of us like to admit to that.
Looking forward to the release. If you ever need more beta testers, ask me or anyone else from Podcast 17 and we'd be glad to help.
Heck yeah. I'll prime the sirens.
We're about to do some recruitment apps for a modeler for exactly that reason.
Placeholder. Besides, the combine AI code needs almost no changes for what we need, so it's perfect for the moment.
Great. Get back to work.
If our flashback sequences come out at least half as good as I'm picturing them, then it should. :P
That's the next thing to add actually.
And that's what it'll fire back at you.
Actually, you need Half Life 2: Episode 2.
Lovely. I shall try once I finish the game, sans any mods.
No changes to the faction system? Bummer.
Any possibility of adding a feature to reset your status with a certain faction?
Or, you know, keep supporting In Development. Both are equally awesome.
A few cracks in the walls, perhaps some water dripping from the ceiling, and I believe you'll have it.
Attach some images so we can see this on the front page!
There's been constant Alpha testing for the past...uh...while.
Trust me, it's ready.
Maybe I should quit coding and make it a job coming up with slogans...
It's not, apparently. It just looks similar because it has a overlooking ledge with a broken fence. Similar props do not make a similar map.
Will we be able to summon other kinds of deathly deserts from the sky? I want some pudding and cakes in there!
I'm loving the death jello, keep it up!
Hurry up and win already.
A three day update? This sounds familiar...
Not that I mind or anything, I just think it's funny!
I'll come back one day with a character idea.
A person who models NPCs, anything that's "alive".
That's a given.
However, I can't show any of our weapon models until we get them skinned.
There's a reason for that. ;)
That rifle looks a bit short...
You can always buy the $10 version on Steam, it works too.
I'd hate to say this, but this kind of feels like an empty update. Maybe you can have more pictures or maybe even a video? Perhaps you can also put some more of a description of what you've done on the mod.
Sorry, it just doesn't seem right that your Summary has more info on the mod than your actual update.
Oo, I like this. I wish there was more info about the engine itself though.
Yep, it's WIP. The bolt is being used, it's just hard to see.
What kind of things could this be used for, other than a real time map on the other screen? Are you planing on having two people play online on the same computer, similar to the L4D splitscreen thing on the PC?
You should probably make the "Achievement Complete" box look different so people can know that they got the achievement without reading the text.
Maybe you can make the box green when the achievement has been unlocked?
Nice touch, definitely helps.
I'm guessing you added those plants on the top?
Yeah, I agree more detail is key for games that use the shadow effect for map layouts. If you can't see in color what it is, the silhouette is very important.
Pretty nice looking. I might get interested in this.
Could you give a rough percentage of how much of the game is done?
When you say new weapons, do you mean actually coded or just re-skined?
Oh, that's only when you first see her. ;)
D-Day, the stereo-typical level of any WW2 shooter.
I don't map. I do the coding for the mod.
I just made a thread on this mod's forums listing all of the team members, as well as positions needed for the mod.
Notice how there's no knife attached either. It's being redone, but it may take some time unfortunately.
Step Over is a utility in a programming environment. When you are debugging, it lets you skip a function instead of running through it.
Yeah, after testing Step Over a bit more, I too felt 3 seconds was too much. You could have a small conversation in that time.
"Hi." "Oh hey, what's up?" "Oh, I found just found this new weapon that *stab*."
Those are some very strange weapons...
Good luck with the mod. Quirkiness generally attracts a lot of players.
