Hello there. Love the mod, having a lot of fun with it. However I am a little puzzled with all the new stuff in the mod. Is there some way to learn what all the new units\buildings are and what they do? I didn't find any wiki for this mod content. It's all a little confusing, can someone point me to where I can find this information?

Hello there. Love the modification a lot, but wanted to ask if I can do something to reduce difficulty in skirmish vs AI? I am a casual player and I am getting my *** kicked even by easy AI. Is there any way for me to tinker with the settings?

Hello I have encountered an error which was present in previous version, but I hoped it wont be in 7.0.

The Emperors Children faction crashes the game during map loading without any error message. It happens irrespective of whether I choose EC faction to -play or set them against me. No such errors occurred while playing any other faction (so far).

Hopefully someone can fix this, thank you in advance.

Hello.

Excellent modification, probably one of the best 40k related. Is there any way to restore older AI for easy opponents. I am a casual player and even the easiest bot completely wipes the floor with me.

Just wanted to say that after Kathleen Kennedy contract renewal for another 3 years "official" Star Wars brand is officially dead. It's so good that legends are still alive thanks to the modders. Kudos creators. ;)

Really nice to hear that. I may do so one day, once i feel the balance isn't hurting too much. Just yesterday i've beaten Borg with Cardassian Union and i feel i've overnerfed them a little. Balancing is a bloody difficult job even for one faction let alone the entire game. i'am at awe with the sheer amount of work you've done with 6 of them (dominion/cardassian).

Well i'am not him but there really are some things about your vision of the mod i like and dislike at the same time. I, for one, have been tinkering with Borg ships and Stations to make Borg beatable mano o mano. I do enjoy how you made them lore accurate. But 1v1 battles with the borg were my favorite in Armada and Armada II. So i've brought them back just for myself.

Which brings me to my personal thank you for making the mod easily accessible for tweaking to personal tastes.

I wonder how the dominion would fare against the Borg. They could adapt to polaron weaponry i assume, but with Breen energy draining tech and endless supply of Jem-Hadar.......

"Version 1.87 is completed and is currently in final testing. One of the biggest changes is I've finally managed to make Sins Large Address Aware. The way I've done this means that it is VERY IMPORTANT that no one applies LAA manually as it will cause problems in multiplayer with anyone who doesn't. But, there should no longer be a need to manually apply LAA as Sins will now ship with it activated by default.

Modders, please update your installation instructions so that no one is instructed to apply LAA when 1.87 is released.

Hello fellow STA III players.

I've got some good news. Recently i've posted here a link with a helpful guide to fix sound effects freezing issue. I've also contacted Ironclad and informed them of the issue and the information the guy from GalCiv forums has found.

Well i'am glad to inform you that it payed off. I'am posting here a response from Ironclad.

"Hi Akulio,

It was quite a job but I've fixed the issue. It will actually be better for you to leave the sounds as ogg files after I release the fix in the upcoming patch (1.87).

Thanks for your help"

So you know now. Another patch will come soon. Hopefully it wont affect running STA III whatsoever. But if it does here's some early warning for the creators. Also it won't be necessary to convert audio files to ogg in "The Final Frontier" which will save some space too.

There is no need for that. MOD works perfectly fine with 1.86, just reapply LAA to SoSE exe file and you're set.

A couple extra GB is a small price to pay. As rule of acquisition number 45 states "Expand or die" :D

BTW i've provided this information to Ironclad tech support. Since they're still supporting SoSE to the extent of releasing optimization patches There is a possibility they'll come up with something too.

Hello and thank you. I'll try those tips. Also i was able to find out something. Apparently sound files are in ogg format for compression purposes and game spend considerable cpu power to decompress them (in big battles lot's of sounds - lot's of power needed) those problems were in the original sins to begin with. Some guy on the tech forums said it might be a good idea to convert audio to other format game supports, say, wav for instance. But it was only a theory.
