lol steam ...
well so much for this... L4D is still the same price on steam as its sequel, and considering the sequel is a newer better version of L4D its split the community unfortunately. I still prefer the first one TBH
It's the first time I see developers giving a ******** to their detractors. You wanted free content ? There you go ! A nice and shiny DLC (L4D 1) coming this summer.
U mad ? :)
XD
The funny thing about this "full price DLC..."
Valve redid EVERYTHING. New code, new voice actors, twice the amount of maps, updated engine, every weapon was redone. There was multiple times the amount of content in Left 4 Dead 2 than in the prequel. Yeah, Left 4 Dead 2 should've totally been free.
#Sarcasm
Lol, even I could tell you were being sarcastic, some people are just stupid...
So basically what you are saying is: since they put a lot of work and effort on this product they should ruin their hard work and give it away for free.
Uh right...
If you said that the first L4D should have been free since it comes as a L4D2 DLC I would have agreed with that.
That actually doesn't really explain why it should be free. If I were to redesign a game, and give it as much updates as L4D2 has, I'd likely want it to give some sort of return as well. Yes, L4D is left in the tracks by it's lack of content, but they are essentially doing the inverse of what you want. They're adding L4D content into L4D2. So in a way, they -are- actually doing it.
Yes, this is frustrating, but I fail to see how boycotting it really effects them anymore. All you're doing is saying that -you- refuse to buy it. They presently make more from selling other people's games than their own.
If you're going to at least complain about a money centric sequel, then complain about Portal 2. The L4D series is selflessly made in comparison to how linear and lacking in difficulty Portal 2 is. I played it on loan, and I still felt like I had been somehow cheated out of money.
It's quiet...
