The Left 4 Dead 2 Boycott is a group of individuals who have pledged to boycott Valve's upcoming release of Left 4 Dead 2 on November 17th, 2009. We have assembled a manifesto outlining the basic concensus of many members of our community.

-Valve is a company with financial needs and cannot be expected to survive without the release of new games.

-Judgment cannot be passed on the quality of Left 4 Dead 2 until its release.

-Left 4 Dead was, and is, a quality game which deserves the praise of the entire gaming community.

-To holding Valve to its promise of free, continual updates to Left 4 Dead in order to build and sustain the community.

-To keeping the Left 4 Dead community together in order to improve the quality of online gaming.

-To supporting the model of continual updates Valve has set forth with its staple products like Team Fortress 2.

-The release of Left 4 Dead 2 as a stand-alone sequel will split the communities and decrease the quality of multiplayer gaming.

-The announced content of Left 4 Dead 2 does not warrant a stand-alone, full-priced sequel and should instead become updates (free or otherwise) for Left 4 Dead.

-Left 4 Dead has not yet received the support and content which Valve has repeatedly stated will be delivered.

-The release of Left 4 Dead 2 will make Left 4 Dead an obsolete purchase and inferior piece of software after only one year since release.

-That Valve honor its commitment to release ongoing periodic content for Left 4 Dead.

-That Left 4 Dead 2 not be released as a stand-alone, full-priced sequel but as either a free update to Left 4 Dead or an expansion with full compatibility with basic Left 4 Dead owners.

-That Left 4 Dead owners be given discounts for Left 4 Dead 2, should it be released as premium content.

Alcool, stop using logic with these idiots. We will never be able to sway them to agree with us. They are just fanboys who would buy anything with the valve logo slapped on it. The perfect demographic for valve.

I play games for fun.

**** the politics of it. When I buy a game, I know that for what I am paying, I am getting everything as advertised. 5 Campaigns in terms of L4D2, as well as new firearms and the introduction of melee weapons... as well as new infected and new characters. We even got tons of new common infected.... and not to mention the AWESOME gore.

I never expected anything more, yet Valve continues with weekly patches to fix things, and even the occasional FREE DLC.

I thought I knew what I was paying for with the first, but I was wrong. I know what to expect from the second, which is another reason I will not buy it. To each their own though.

All I have to say about the weekly patches is: A game that has to be updated with fixes so often, should have had more care put into it before release.

The game is bug-free, and has been...they just make minor changes that don't seem to affect anything.

I think that expecting free content doesn't make sense. Valve has no obligation to give free content...

It's nothing either of you have.

There's nothing that can be done to make you think otherwise, so how can you call yourself rational if you won't even consider the otherside's arguments? Are you going to use the excuse that no one has given you a good point? Then think about the flaws in your own thinking yourself, you don't need to change your opinion upon finding one, but you can at least recognize it.

Going to say I don't do the same myself? There's a reason why I don't own L4D or L4D2.

You're really talking about considering the other sides arguments this late into the game? By now if you've been reading here you'll have seen the same comment copied over 3 dozen times at least, with the same responses.

Giving a good point doesn't mean I should agree with them, and finding flaws in my own thinking WOULD CAUSE me to change my opinion. dur

You're reason obviously isn't the same as mine, but that doesn't mean you have to flame my posts, or anyone else's for that matter. Try contributing your reasons you don't own them for a change.

Seeing that rationality considers openness to both sides, and that you refuse to be open, then it's hypocritical for you to call yourself logical.

They said they're not going to make L4D3 for a long time. Portal 2 and probably HL2: EP3 first.

They just made The Sacrifice DLC for both L4D1 and L4D2, so this group is a defunct piece of ****. Oh wait, it already was.
