Prehistory of the Serious Sam
Jul 20, 2012 Singleplayer Map 0 commentsThe new campaign "Prehistory of the Serious Sam" about the invasion of Mental and how Sam got the status of Serious Sam.
Serious Sam 3: BFE is a glorious throwback to the golden age of first-person shooters where men were men, cover was for amateurs and pulling the trigger made things go boom. Serving as a prequel to the original indie sensation, Serious Sam: The First Encounter, Serious Sam 3 takes place during the Earth’s final struggle against Mental’s invading legions of beasts and mercenaries. Set against the collapsing temples of an ancient civilization and the crumbling cities of 22nd century Egypt, Serious Sam 3 is an exhilarating fusion of classic twitch shooters and modern gameplay features.

Valentine's Day is famous for wilting flowers and packed restaurants. Why not stay in and have some indie gaming fun instead? We can sort that! There are hours of very unromantic alien blasting, striking tower defense action & heaps of classic platforming to be found in the Valentine's Bundle 2.0 from Indie Royale. Together the 6 titles featured in this bundle are valued at over $65! At Indie Royale the starting price is just $3.99.
Leading this Indie Gaming love-in is the latest installment in Croteam's phenomenally popular series: Serious Sam 3: BFE.
Serious Sam 3: BFE is a glorious throwback to the golden age of first-person shooters where men were men, cover was for amateurs and pulling the trigger made things go boom. It's available for Windows, Mac or Linux on Steam. It was developed by Croteam, is offered thanks to Devolver Digital and was released in November 2011. The game serves as a prequel to the original indie sensation, Serious Sam: The First Encounter. 1UP said of Serious Sam 3: BFE that it's "a game that deserves to be played, because it shows what shooters were and could have been. It shows that there's more to the genre than what AAA developers have shown us in the past decade". For the hopelessly romantic among you, Serious Sam 3: BFE includes a great co-op mode!
Next is Shad'O from Okugi Studio. A unique tower defense game that will immerse you in the story of William, a 9-year-old boy lost in his own mind, fighting to save his memory. He will get help from his luminous companions in his struggle to remember what happened to him. Available for Windows from Steam, Desura & DRM-free. Shad'O is a beautiful game about light and dark. IGN said "it distinguishes itself through its striking art design and compelling narrative". Shad'O was only released in September 2012. We've got the Collector's Edition which includes the game and the soundtrack.
Another recently released game in the Valentine's Bundle 2.0 is the pure 2d platformer Oozi: Earth Adventure, available for Windows on Desura & DRM-free with the OST. It was developed by Awesome Game Studio. The game has a lovely hand drawn art style tied to some hardcore, old school platforming. Gaming Nexus reviewed the game with the comment that it's an "adventure that really conjures up memories of classic platformers from the 8-bit and 16-bit days". Oozi: Earth Adventure is in Steam Greenlight right now so don't forget to upvote it if you like this game.
The next game in this bundle is Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time from Stickmen Studios, available for Windows from Steam, Desura & DRM-free with a Mac version too. This game is the first Doc Clock time travelling adventure in which you can invent almost anything out of everything you find, from catapults to incredible flying machines. The game features sarcasm, misguided robots and a cat! There are wallpapers for the game included in the Valentine's Bundle 2.0.
Last up we have 2 games from Boss Baddie: Lunnye Devitsy and Wake. Together they make up the Lunar Pack. Lunnye Devitsy is a mystery puzzle platformer about a little alien who falls off the moon and has to make his way back. In Wake, an engineer is trapped on a sinking ship and he has to navigate his way to the surface above. Both games are available for Windows on Desura & DRM-free and we've got the OST. Both games in the Lunar Pack are new 2013 versions launched in this bundle.
Finally, those who pay $8 USD or their currency equivalent during the Valentine's Bundle 2.0 will get an ambient electronic treat from Tim Wright of CoLD SToRAGE, the recently released 'SLIPSTREAM [volume 2]'. As with SLIPSTREAM Vol. 1 from the last Indie Royale bundle, this album features 64 bit digital re-mix / re-masters of Tim's tracks from WipEout and WipEout 2097. It also includes some special remixes and exclusive bonus tracks that weren't on WipEout. These tracks were created around the same time, so they share a similar flavour. This album is available in MP3 and FLAC format.
You can find more information on the Valentine's Bundle 2.0, including real-time statistics and its current price, on its official website or via its Facebook and Twitter pages. Grab this bundle now while the price is still low (unless kind purchasers lower the price) so that you'll have hours of lovely indie gaming to look forward to!

In view of that I am extremely dissatisfied with a remake of map "Little Trouble" in Serious Sam 3, Has decided to make the "correct" variant.
Crazy "Team Fortress 2" style Addon - Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro Sam. Created on motives of anime Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan...
Just a modification I made for fun. Enjoy! -----
This mod makes the Kleers do the same bowling sound as in Serious Sam 2 when they die.
This addon makes most enemies make an high pitched cartoon-like happy sound when gibbed.
Highest Rated (4 agree) 8/10
Some weird decisions gameplay wise after the near perfect first and second encounter.
Mostly disappointing bosses, over use of hitscan enemies at some point, infinite ammo crates, serious lost its double ammo, overall difficulties seem to all have the same amount of enemies but the worst is definitely the "explosives only" enemies.
Still a great game, but a step down compared to the previous games.
From a technical stand-point the game is really gorgeous.

Valve, cause its dominant position, ****** the future of DRM Free AAA gaming on Linux.
This is the proof.
I got this game on Desura and I'm on Mac.
When I click "Play this game" it tells me to install the Desura Client. But it doesn't exist for Mac.
So my question: How do I install this game?
Too bad I have already bought this one on Steam. I really like Desura, but the regional prices are way too different (600 roubles + occasional discounts in Steam against 1221.15 in Desura - the choice is obvious).
I bought this and now it tells me its not available for Linux? WTF?
It works on Steam but I can't run steam as I'm using Debian stable 64 bit. Maybe in the future I will be able to play this game. I just got a refund for now. Come on Steam! Make a new install file for 64 bit Debian Squeeze!
Ability to run program across different distros would have been really cool, but the problem is that many games with their shiny new engines rely on some newer features, that are only available in newer programs. For example, most of the stuff from steam is compiled against libc 2.15, which can be found in Ubuntu 12.04, that's why it cannot be launched in Debian Wheezy. I doubt the game distributors will force the developers to redesign the engine in order to support the whole variety of distros.
What the... only with STEAM ??
Come on !! I thought Desura will only let us buy free DRM games and now, we must have STEAM to play a game from Desura ?
I was ready to buy it if I can have it by Desura but that sentence stopped me. Thank you. But I don't want to rent a game, I want to buy it and that's why I am on Desura.
I love the melee system in this game <3
dude your profil pic lolXD
Please please stay independant from steam. I would really prefer if games requiring steam were sold on steam.
