REFUSION is a fusion of FPS and RTS game genres with great emphasis on multiplayer.
There are two types of players - Masters and Fighters. Masters play their usual RTS game. The difference is that some of their soldiers are live players playing their own FPS game and these are called Fighters.
Imagine yourself playing as a Master in classical RTS like Starcraft or Total Annihilation and your friend in the role of a Fighter playing his own FPS like for example Battlefield DC. And this all is happening in the same time at the same place. Isn't it brilliant idea? The best thing about this all above is the shared experience but for each player from perspective seen from the different point of the view.
The Master builds bases and units, takes care of resource management, researches global upgrades and leads the whole battle, exactly as if he was playing a normal RTS game. As soon as he builds barracks, the live FPS players can join the game as Fighters and use everything Master has built, including usage of units he has created.
Through cooperation a great game come to existence, where Master sees everything from a bird perspective and leads the battle globally. Live Fighter has his own head and judgement of the situation, he sees the battle in local perspective and is able to solve some situations better than Master could ever do. Fighter can also invite few AI controlled units into his team and command them on the battlefield according to his current needs.

You have some great artists, nice work!
You should include multiple "Masters". IE: Perhaps there can be several Commanders (certain people have RTS control of platoons [platoons are 26-64 people in size] or perhaps lower the chain of command to Squads, depending on how many people there can be on map at once) so that there is not just one ******* either excelling or failing and possibly ruining it for a good team. Simply a suggestion.

Makes me think of Planetside.
But really, how large do you plan on the map being? an earth-sized planet?
a small part of a planet? Will there be a few different maps or one?
Hi,
current development version of REFUSION terrain is more than 20x20km = 400km2 large.
We also successfully tested map dimension more than 40x40km = 1600mk2.
This dimension is limited due to need of real-time phys calculations all the time in whole game space. For RTS held on any place on the map, we cannot just turn phys off farther from the camera/player, as it is usually done in common FPS games.
The terrain is borderless, so if you walk in one direction long enough, you would seamlessly reach the same starting place. It behaves like planets do.
Our intent is to finish several maps with different environments. You can see four of them in the recently released flash minigame REFUSION Arcade Trainer.

The arcade trainer is really pointless...
(And I can't get past the first level because I don't know how to dodge missiles >.< )

REFUSION Arcade Trainer is really casual minigame. It uses REFUSION content and it is meant to be played while waiting for the first playable build of the main REFUSION Game running on our unique SamOne Engine.
To avoid enemy missile You must react very quickly and determine the missile flight direction and then "fly" on the opposite side until it passes by.
