You are a security guard who accompanied a group of space colonists on their trip on the huge space ship, the Marathon. Suddenly, aliens who call themselves Pfhor attack the ship and massacre the colonists. What's worse, the aliens damage the omniscient super-computers on Marathon. One of them is heavily damaged, and the other becomes insane! Caught in the midst of the battle between the two AIs, trying to stay alive in the onslaught of the Pfhor, you begin the desperate fight for survival... In this first-person shooter, you have a variety of weapons that serve you in your battle against your enemies. Different types of enemies (organic or mechanical) take different amounts of damage depending on the weapon. You can also fire from two weapons (such as pistols) simultaneously. Shooting enemies is not the only thing you will do in "Marathon". It is possible to communicate with the damaged AIs of the ship by looking at messages they send you via computers. The story is unraveled primarily through those messages.

Keep in mind you will need a copy of Max Payne 2 installed (retail or Steam) in order to install the game. As before, texture resolution must be set to HIGH or the game will crash. For other issues, consult the README in the game folder or ask your question here on the Marathon//Max forums.

Wohoooooo, some great Marathon games, wohooo, I knew Marathon would be almost inmortal....But one question, when are you gonna release it????, and if you need any help with the models just ask, im doin a lot of the chars from Marathon too...

Tau introduced in Warhammer 40k in 2001.

also check out aleph one, allows marathon(1,2, and 3) to run under OS X and the other newer versions of other OS's. also updates the game to look a lot prettier and all that goodness(you can now play online, and yes many still play this classic online): Source.bungie.org
