Fractured State is an RTS game chronicling a civil war in the country of Laperia. In the Summer of 1195 the Ritualist followers of Jefferson Kimmel consolidate in the northern provinces and, along with constables from several city-states, cede from Laperia and form the nation of Kalen. Executor Sor, the Imperialist leader of Laperia, swiftly declares all out war while Kimmel mentors his followers on how to harness the technology of a mysterious ancient civilization.
Dev Video #6 is up! This one is a bit shorter but I wanted to show some of the stuff I've been working on in terms of Gameplay. This demo shows an early proof of squad formations as well as structure garrisoning and my terrible "programmer art" contextual mouse cursors.
Formations won't end up playing a big role in the final game but they are useful for troop movement to ensure that units don't end up stepping all over each other. It also spaces squad mates out a bit so that rogue machine gun doesn't mow down your entire force. Structure garrisoning, however, is a huge pillar in our design. You'll see what I mean in the coming weeks. Enjoy!
Also - the panting you hear in the background is courtesy of my in-laws 110 pound rottweiler, so...apologies for that.
