OK. If you think you've never had such a discussion with anyone - say, your parents, siblings, friends, friend with benefits, significant other, lover, mistress, cicisbeo, concubine, fiancee, or even your soon to be ex wife- is either because you don't remember it or you simply don't use toilet paper at all. In any case, chances say you're likely to have this little discussion with someone, sometime between today and the day of your utter demise, whenever that may be. And probably, you'll find out that this so-called 'minor' issue can give you some serious headaches: So... which one is it for you? And more importantly: why? Neither. My rolls are stored vertically. Conundrum solved. |

Well, it's a very important question. I am for the "over the roll". I think it's because of its ergonomic features implied by this setting. The cons is that you must manage it with more care, otherwise you could waste important (especially in some moments) paper. I think the other setting is more appropriate for people who don't want to run the risk of that waste. -- |

It's pretty sad wikipedia has this as a topic & deletes more history worthy things because they're not popular. Anyway... Who cares as long as there's some to use. -- Go play some Quake 2: q2server.fuzzylogicinc.com |

I kinda find this topic a bit disturbing ... because it seems to be the unwittingly propagated viral marketing that was first ignited by these commercials Meanwhile, we all bicker on the internet about how we store our toilet paper, and pay less attention to more serious problems. When in reality, it just doesn't fucking matter. Its just so stupid ... they started this campaign which totally distracts people and it probably doesn't even boost their sales because its not like people will go out and buy specific name brand toilet paper because of this debate, nor will they wipe their ass any more than before. |

Here's another one of the remaining seven: hair clog at the bathtub drain ON-topic: Under the roll, of course. You can use just one hand to cut it against the wall, while when it's over the roll, you''ll probably need both. |

Over the roll. Three reasons: A) If from under, larger area of the toilet paper is touching the damn wall. Unless you're all the time cleaning and washing the walls, its unhygienic. Doesn't matter if the roll ISN'T touching the wall, but if it's like most of the "modern" holders... then definately over the roll. B) More efficient to pick up required amount of pieces (2). If under the roll you're really seeing the "amount" only when you're ripping the thing. I prefer control and under the roll doesn't have it. C) Cats are less interested in over the top, than the hanging under the roll. |
