Basic Mapping/Technical.

First we go through what lightmaps are, then we alter the lightmap scale on a brush face and observe the results. Then we learn the pros and cons of decreasing or increasing the lightmap scale.

As mentioned in the tutorial it has little to no effect on rendering cost since they are pre-calculated.

I think it's really cool how you can crank up the lightmap detail without an fps loss. That means if the mapmaker is patient enough their map can look amazing and still run great
