Project Reality: BF2 Installation Guide

Uninstall all previous versions of PR:BF2 before installing PR!
Make sure to install DirectX 9,.NET framework and Visual C++! This otherwise makes you unable to load the game.
Disable your Anti-Virus during installation and white-list the PR Installation folder afterwards.
Check this thread for more common Launch issues if you experience any.
If you downloaded the Torrent, this is NOT the full install. You use the small .torrent file with a BitTorrent client to actually download the full 6.7 GB .iso file. We recommend qBittorrent. The Torrent is the recommended download method in order to avoid corrupt downloads. Once the torrent is downloaded through your selected Torrent software, you will be presented with a "ISO" file to move on to the next step.

We also offer direct HTTP download links in the The PR:BF2 Download Section. However the chances of corrupted downloads are much higher here and we do recommend to stick to the torrent.

Both the torrent and HTTP version of the download comes in the form of an "ISO" file. In order to install it, you will need to either:

  1. Mount it using free software such as Virtual CloneDrive.
  2. Extract it using free software such as 7-Zip or WinRAR
  3. Burn it to a DVD
  4. Or if you are running Windows 8 or higher, you can just double click on the ISO and it should automatically mount to a virtual drive.

An example on how to extract the ISO file using any one of the above methods can be found in this image.

Once you have done this, you simply run the installer it contains (setup.exe).

It is strongly recommended that you close all open applications when installing PR:BF2.

After installation is complete, depending on the choices you selected in the installer, you can either launch Project Reality: BF2from the desktop shortcut or your start menu.

Congratulations, you have now installed Project Reality: BF2 and are ready to play. If you have any confusion over these installation steps, please don't hesitate to post a support thread in our Support Forums.

So Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach use different Engines?

All the Halo games use the same engine but modified.

Basically, the more recent the game, the more up to date it is with more work and features.

As an fyi, almost every engine is like this.

The reason I asked that is because Halo 3 ODST and Halo Reach are not listed.

Originally Halo was called "Monkey Nuts" but one of the devs couldn't tell his mother that, so they renamed it "Blam!" because when Bungie was in Chicago there were screeching tires outside the offices, but no crash sound, so someone would yell BLAM!!! I think one of the other working titles was Red Haze or something like that...
