War of the Silmarils is a sub-mod of Third Age: Total War, the ever popular total conversion for Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms. The goal is to follow the lore as closely as possible and faithfully reproduce the heroic First Age of Tolkien's Middle-earth in the Medieval II: Total War engine. War of the Silmarils features many new unique factions, each complete with a roster of units, a completely new campaign map of Beleriand and the lands to the North, and much more. So if you're one of the many who have been enthralled by Tolkien's mystical world, this is a mod to watch!
Sentinels of Talath Dirnen, cloaked and clad in grey and green and carrying bow and sword, they are the silent guardians of the Hidden Realm of Finrod Felagund.

The Guarded Plains or Talath Dirnen were the forested, unpopulated lands between the rivers Teiglin and Narog which the Noldor of Finrod Felagund held with hidden force. Many rangers and sentinels did they have scattered in those lands, and hidden places of strength as well.
Foremost of its defenders were the Sentinels of Talath Dirnen, who slew all the folk of Morgoth who entered that land with secret darts and ambush with the aim of keeping the position of Nargothrond hidden from the Enemy.
These warriors bear no armour, for it is not their custom to engage their enemies in the field, rather they slay them from afar, and only engage their foes in ambushes they can surely win. Greatly skilled they are in the usage of the bow, and few beasts nor birds or other servants of Morgoth escape their keen eyes and darts. With the blade they have great skill as well, and these silent watchers are greatly skilled in the setting of ambushes, and the slaying of all the foes they ensnare.
Though perhaps not suited for the battle lines, these warriors can be used to great effect ambushing the enemy with their bow and blade.
Very nice!
