War of the Silmarils is a sub-mod of Third Age: Total War, the ever popular total conversion for Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms. The goal is to follow the lore as closely as possible and faithfully reproduce the heroic First Age of Tolkien's Middle-earth in the Medieval II: Total War engine. War of the Silmarils features many new unique factions, each complete with a roster of units, a completely new campaign map of Beleriand and the lands to the North, and much more. So if you're one of the many who have been enthralled by Tolkien's mystical world, this is a mod to watch!

Angrod of House Finarfin was the younger brother of Finrod Felagund, and he held the lands of Dorthonion of which Treebeard sung to Merry and Pippin; a land of pine-woods. In those lands Angrod's people held dominion, and ever did they make war upon raiding orcs crossing through their woods.

With mail of elf-steel they were armoured, covered with grey cloaks and mantles, bearing only swords. The People of Angrod were valiant and skilled at arms, and the forests of Dorthonion were fenced shut from any incursion by the orcs for a while by them. Though they took as their ruler Angrod, their overlord was Finrod of Nargothrond, and in hist hosts, Angrod's people marched to war.

They are a hardy folk, and their approach can be swift and hard to mark for they bear little naked steel, and if they fall upon the flanks or the rear of an orc host, they can drive it apart, and scatter it like leaves in the wind.
