War of the Silmarils is a sub-mod of Third Age: Total War, the ever popular total conversion for Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms. The goal is to follow the lore as closely as possible and faithfully reproduce the heroic First Age of Tolkien's Middle-earth in the Medieval II: Total War engine. War of the Silmarils features many new unique factions, each complete with a roster of units, a completely new campaign map of Beleriand and the lands to the North, and much more. Nargothrond Archers, same as House of Fingolfin.
Like any Elven kindred, the Noldor have an innate ability with the bow, if less skill in the usage of this weapon than in the wielding and usage of the cold steel blades they are feared for. The Noldorin archer battalions have often gone unsung, despite their bravery and skill and their integral and important part within any Noldor host. They have not gone unnoticed, however, by their foes, being feared by most orcs for their uncanny accuracy and ability to scythe down orcs from afar. Tall helms they bear, like to the gem inlaid war helms their High Lords wear. Their bows are of great stature, launching their darts high and far and long the blades they bear also, for every archer is skilled in their usage. In the hues of their Lords they are garbed, their mail and helms shimmering like the peaks of snow capped mountains. Of the finest make their gem embossed shields are, desired by all their helms and mail hauberks are, like any things of Noldorin make. Fearlessly these archers shall stand in the way of any foe, harrying them from afar and in the thick of the fray with their blades.
