War of the Silmarils is a sub-mod of Third Age: Total War, the ever popular total conversion for Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms. The goal is to follow the lore as closely as possible and faithfully reproduce the heroic First Age of Tolkien's Middle-earth in the Medieval II: Total War engine. War of the Silmarils features many new unique factions, each complete with a roster of units, a completely new campaign map of Beleriand and the lands to the North, and much more. So if you're one of the many who have been enthralled by Tolkien's mystical world, this is a mod to watch!

Though Nargothrond was a dwelling safe from the hand of Morgoth for a time, the folk of that fastness did not cease in their vigilance. In the woods stalked their scouts and riders, and guarding their homes were many companies of skilled warriors such as the Golden Guard of Nargothrond.

Their raiment was golden like the hair of their King Finrod, and in fine mail they were clad, also bearing great cloaks about their shoulders. With pikes they were armed, to keep at bay whatever foe might try and assail their city, and little Morgoth could muster had the courage and strength to break apart their lines, save the brood of Glaurung.

The mere glint of the spear-heads of their dreaded weapons, and the glow of their hauberks sends dread into the hearts of their foes, for those things herald the approach of the Golden Guard of Nargothrond.

Just a slightly altered version of Turgon's description. I mainly just added some more locations and whatnot that I thought relevant in this regard ie. Talath Dirnen & Doors of Felagund

Though Nargothrond was a dwelling safe from the shadow of Morgoth for a time, the folk of that fastness did not cease in their vigilance. In the woods stalked their scouts and on the great plain of Talath Dirnen passed their riders. The strength of Nargothrond lay however in its great hosts. Great companies of mail clad elves guarding the Doors of Felagund, chief among them the Golden Guard of Nargothrond.

Their raiment was golden like the hair of their King Finrod, Clad in fine mail and bearing great cloaks around their shoulders. They bore great pikes to keep at bay whatever foe might try to pass the Doors of Felagund, and little Morgoth could muster had the courage and strength to break apart their lines, save the brood of Glaurung.

The glint of the sun on the tips of their spears and their golden raiment sends dread into the hearts of their foes, for it is these things that herald the arrival of the Golden Guard of Nargothrond
