War of the Silmarils is a sub-mod of Third Age: Total War, the ever popular total conversion for Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms. The goal is to follow the lore as closely as possible and faithfully reproduce the heroic First Age of Tolkien's Middle-earth in the Medieval II: Total War engine. War of the Silmarils features many new unique factions, each complete with a roster of units, a completely new campaign map of Beleriand and the lands to the North, and much more. So if you're one of the many who have been enthralled by Tolkien's mystical world, this is a mod to watch!

Though Finarfin himself might have forsaken the march, many of his folk did not, and thus a great portion of his hardy and valiant folk came into Beleriand, following his spawn Finrod and Galadriel. Renowned for great prowess at arms were the Guard of House Finarfin, knights and nobles who rode with the lords that were descendant of Finarfin. Renowned that House was also for its golden hair, for many of them were of Vanyar descent, and fair they were to look upon.

The Guards of the Hose of Finarfin were the bravest and most skilled nobles that the folk of Nargothrond and their lords could draw upon in battle. Golden haired they were, with great golden helms and spears of white fire like the sun. Their shields and mail hauberks of silver and gold were the craft of the smiths of Valinor, and few blows and few darts could rend them or cleave them. High above them they flew the banners of their House; the device of Finarfin and that of Finrod, keeper of Nargothrond.

The steeds they rode were of the noble stock of Valinor, tireless and of great pace and as fearless as the riders that spurred them into battle against a sea of foes.

Nice!

By the way, only Finarfin and his descendants had golden hair (through his mother Indis who was a Vanya), the folk of the House of Finarfin were dark-haired like most Noldor.

That leads me to question you, sir: Are you a Vanya or a Ñoldo, or maybe a Sinda or Linda >>with that blond hair of yours<<? Would you valiantly and foolishly die for the oath of Fëanáro, or obey the Valar and let Middle-Earth's fate to the powers of Arda doings?

Ah, that's correct. I will rectify this to make it true-to-lore.

Even if swarmed by a great multitude of foes, these warriors will not relent, for with the sword they are greatly skilled, and from the backs of their steeds they can with ease cleave the helms of the foes that surround them.

Another edit, minor changes but,I completely changed the last paragraph (not sure if you will like it or if you prefer Turgon's version)

Though Finarfin himself might have forsaken the march, many of his folk did not, and thus a great number of his hardy and valiant folk came into Beleriand, following his spawn Finrod and Galadriel. Renowned for their great skill at arms were the Guard of the House of Finarfin, knights and nobles who rode fearlessly alongside the lords of that fair house.

The Guards of the Hose of Finarfin were the most valiant and skilled nobles of the folk of Nargothrond that their lords could draw upon in battle. Upon their heads they wore great golden helms and they each bore great spears whose tips shone with the white fire of the sun. Their shields and mail hauberks of silver and gold were the craft of the smiths of Valinor, that would turn aside nearly all blows and darts. High above them they flew proudly the banners of their House; the device of Finarfin and that of Finrod, King of Nargothrond.
The steeds they rode were of the noble stock of Valinor, tireless and of great pace and as fearless as the riders that spurred them into battle against a sea of foes.

Even if faced with a multitude of foes far beyond their own number, these fearless warriors will not falter, but fight on until either they slay all in their path or are themselves slain for such is their skill with the blade and courage that few would dare stand in their path.
