Dawn of the Tiberium Age (DTA) is a stand-alone mod that combines Tiberian Dawn (C&C 95) and Red Alert. While classic mode gets as close to the original game-play and balance as possible, Enhanced mode provides improved game balance and a lot of fun new stuff. DTA features many customization options for Skirmish and multiplayer (where you can play as GDI, Nod, Allies and Soviet on over 200 maps), challenging original singleplayer missions, as well as co-op missions. Since this is a stand-alone mod, you don't require anything but the mod itself to be able to play: the original game is not required.
A new map created by TrainStation. It will be included with DTA 1.18.
I like the bridges :)
Are they 5 cells wide instead of the usual 3 or is that just me?
They're 6 cells wide with lightposts on each side. Since they're likely to have unit traffic, they're supposed to be fairly wide.
DTA has *six* cell bridges?
Or is that just 2 3-cell bridges close together or some other form of engine-trickery?
They don't use TS bridge logic you're used to, they are average terrain with tunnel mechanic.
For this reason, they can't be blown up either, but hey, we got customisable bridges!
Forest Fires and A Path Beyond are the only maps I recall to have old TS low-bridge logic - but they don't allow unit movement undernath - the only way to combine both traits is use of high-bridges. And that would require bringing back traditional TS cliffs and slopes, while DTA is "flattened", like RA or TD.
I'm used to RA2YR bridge logic with train bridges :P
TS high bridges seem similiar to RA2 high bridges for me.
And I've never seen RA2 low bridge BTW.
I was never certain about the difference between "high" and "low" bridges in TS/RA2, but there is a "low" bridge, I guess, in RA2. It's the wooden one. This is the only image I could find quickly on an Image Search: I.ytimg.com
There's also the low road bridge. It's just like the wooden bridge but has a road and concrete/metal painted on it
I totally forgot about engineering bridges... I mean ones that look as if made from wood or deployed by engineering tank.
I just don't recall road low bridges in RA.
Figured I'd point it out since its not really visible; there are infantry cave tunnels on the top and bottom of the map (where those pathways are) that lead into a flank of the opposite team's bases.
Additionally, the map has airstrips on the top-right and bottom-left that provide the player with an airstrike superweapon. The airstrips are not accessible without air transports.
