USS Assaulter returns to an unsafe Zone territory.
Armed with a shortened Mossberg and M4A1 he is well armed to the task of urban combat and clearing of buildings. But one false move could be the end of him so he needs to be on his toes...

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this but i have to point out when you took gun out to reload it you could see trough your hand for a second there, can you do anything about that? I think that is vanilla reloading animation but it would be nice if you could fix that up. Anyway i said it thousand times and i WILL say it once again, this mod is absolutely astonishing, seriously i can't think of a word good enough to describe this mod's coolness >,>. Amazing work once again keep it up, Happy New Year and hopefully we will enjoy Misery soon, Thank you.

I just watched it on youtube. My reaction: I came buckets. I want to have your babies. You guys keep saying that you aren't interested in Stalker 2, THIS IS stalker 2! You guys deserve a medal, honestly. The only gripe is the mask HUD effect, could be a little smoother

UI textures can only be 1024x720. It will be stretched by the game on larger resolutions.

It's the FOV nicolai is using, with the default FOV (70) you won't see it like this :)

Man that spot you chose has always been bad luck for me in misery. Every time I think I've cleared a safe path in something else appears from somewhere. Hell one time I'd killed everything around. Everything.. Got beat up bad.. the the damn hamsters came roiling up out of the damn tunnel area. :.(... I wasnt even near the entrance but they came and I was so screwed I couldnt do a thing about it. lol Well armed zombies? Beat them. Bloodsuckers? All the ones from the swamp below and an extra that had spawned across the tracks. Fairly sure there were even a couple other critters that had been drawn in by the firefight. But I beat them all! All but the damn hamsters... -.- I shouldn't have tried getting them. No shotgun equiped.. I shoulda ran. But after all that I was feeling too excited to think straight. To freakin hamsters.....
Anyways everything was looking really good and really interesting but.. Was I the only one that thought the shotgun in hand in the video looked a little short and fat? Is that how that particular model really looks? I dunno.

I know this is probably way late as far as models go, but most people who have shot a traditional PG shotgun will tel you- it is brutal on your wrist. I prefer a "bird's head" grip, like this:

I kinda wish the sounds (reloading, walking, etc.) we're a bit muffled or something from the mask so they dont sound as robotic/clear sounding/obvious that they we're recorded in a studio
Most masks don't cover your ears. Creating a unique sfx library for the ones that does is really not worth the large amount of work if you ask me. There is no simle way to simply add a 'muffle effect' to all ingame audio upon use of certain helmet items.
Yeah, I suppose I was just juxtaposing the realistic/believable sounds of the gas mask to the more 'robotic/obviously studio recorded' sound effects; I've always had a pet-peeve with the sounds effects being so 'perfect' in stalker games.
Wait, was that an individual pair of boots? Is that part of a quest I missed or have you implemented a new clothing system where you can wear individual stuff i.e. The Elder Scrolls?
Considering how important footware really is it would be a realistic sort of survival thing the make boots, or footwraps if you're in dire straights, a somewhat valuable commodity in the zone. And separate from all but completely enclosed suits.

Really, really impressed. I think there is a lot more to 2.0 than I realised. The atmosphere in the video was incredibly tense. I cannot wait to play 2.0! Congratulations to N.Aaroe and the rest of the Misery team!
Amazing, tense atmosphere. You should all be praised that, both due to the added lore, the ammount of work gone into storytelling etcetera, the gameplay has shifted toward a bit more of a horror-survival approach, instead of full on run-and-gun firefights that most other mods (despite claims) still offer.
This video clearly shows the ammount of guts one must have to approach a 'seemingly' abandonned building. Rarely have I played games that strung emotions more than STALKER has, and additions like this and LURK are some to be praised.
The gas mask hud looks amazing, will there be more new gas masks to choose from other than the GP7?

I hope that breathing effect and the music is all 100% in-game. The atmosphere was fantastic.
I was getting a weird Far Cry 2 vibe, which is odd because I always imagine the zone as being cold and overcast, not dry and hot and sunny - but I think the latter still fits in STALKER perfectly so it's all good (I kind of prefer it like that actually).
Shame you can't get some Metro 2033 style animations going for the gasmask, that would be great.
And uh, as a personal request - any chance on getting some VERY hi-res gasmask/scope sprites in game? all the ones I've seen have looked terribly lo-res. Is this an engine/game limitation?

MISERY offers every kind of weather condition. Hot and sunny like this is a rarity though...
Breathing sfx and music is all ingame.
We have improved helmet huds for version 2.0 and plan to do so with scope textures also
In the regard of breathing sounds I'll only add that they are dynamic (both those with and without gasmask) - so if you sprint for a while, get damage etc. - the breathing gets faster and more heavy.
Oh - and the whole thing comes from heavly modified Dynamic HUD Reworked mod by smurth, who pretty much nailed many aspects of hud like no one before him.

They've since stopped taking requests, I believe.
And the SR-25 would be the only weapon that would even have a chance of making it into the zone.
