So I've been playing with Misery for a bit, and am about five in-game days in yet it doesn't seem like the trader goods are cycling. I feel like they might be restocking, as I bought an SVT from Owl and he had another one in stock a little bit later, yet it's always the same things. You would think that their selections would change after a little while. Is the duration just longer than I anticipated, or is there something weird with my game?

I don't know if this is an engine limitation or what. But this is normal in most Stalker Games. Vanilla or modified. (At least I have seen very few S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mods that did otherwise.) It would be nice to hear some feedback from the Devs though.
But yes this would be an improvement if the traders could have more variety or at least not sell the same items every day for 365 days a year. Key word variety. :P

But the devs they are quite busy so I guess the Logical thing would just be to wait for a reply.

I actually fixed it. Basically in the trader files all the items under the basic categories had a 100% occurrence rate. I modified the files to suit my liking, and can upload them somewhere if you want. Be warned, though: they add more weapons and items to the cycles of the traders, so it might make the mod easier, although it seems like the low percentages I used are keeping the balance rather alright.

I have to say that this is an excellent contribution to Misery, easy to implement and really complements the mod. I hope some programers/mods see this and tell us if its easily implementable, if not, could you maybe post a guide to how to do this on the Misery page? Your idea fixes the problem with not enough ammo, and yet adds to the "hard"ness of the game, so it is perfect.

Moddb has a feature where you can post tutorials and stuff.

Again thanks for this, I hope it gets more attention.

In addition to this. Does anyone know how to change the items, death items and amounts for npcs. I've found the different inventories of Stalkers and bandits etc. etc. I changed the coding in the Character desc general as well as the death items by communities levels and ammount files but cant seem to get it to work. The farthest I've come is crashing when i kill someone.

Depends on the crash log, I guess. It will tell you if you have made a typo, or forgot to add something.

Fixed it. Managed to change trading and load outs to be more realistic in my opinion. Even managed to change death items to be more realistic as well. So this added to the zombies being chest and head critical not just head, zombies shooting slower and less accurately (because they're brain-dead) -_- along with other changes to weight limits and sleeping and food actually giving you health (slightly for food and progressively larger amounts for hours slept) atmosfear tweaking so npcs turn to zombies if caught in emissions (more fun i think) not to mention character resistance to bullets etc etc. (tired of a shot to the foot or shoulder killing me, pulling John Wayne's now.) I have completed my overhaul of this overhaul to make it more realistic. lol :flame:

I second this.

I'd love to get my greasy hands on those changes/tweaks/fixes.

No prob. Just give me a couple of days to polish it up and make sure all the bugs i came across were fixed. I'll do the same to misery two just because i want to make it more realistic in some aspects but not a complete pain in the butt to play. No offense but what person in there right mind doesn't carry a little bit of food and more than five rounds of ammo? Any way two days tops.:flame:

Nice, that would be awesome Teddy!

Always found it so strange, shotting down some bandits to only find they have a buggered Makarov with half a mag on them :/

I think, overall, its pretty hard to balance the game while having allot of gear on NPC's without really well done AI for the NPC's (To make combat more dangous) Misery done a pretty good job but its not quite with the Lootables

Apr 17 2013 Anchor

I haven't really taken notice to the droptable of the NPC's yet, since I'm still starting out.
What I on the other hand is getting midly infuriated about is the trader without any fantasy when resupplying.
I mean, if someone only sells the same things over and over again. In the end everyone will have that equipment, and he'll run out of new customers and have to shut down his operation.
Supply creates demand.
And the zombies grinds my gears. Sure, they're zombies, you gotta remove the head or destroy the brain. But when they cap you in your family jewels from 150m with a Makarov while you're struggling to hit their walnut with 30x 7,62 rounds, it annoys me...

I tried editing the trader ltx files myself and fiddling with the values, but it ended up with a stock consisting of only a Toz, a 1300, STG44 and a few various pistols. He stopped supplying me with ammo completely. And since I'm using the AKM at the moment, that really made my eyes all wet. :(

Looking forward to your overhaul, Teddy. I appreciate it a LOT!

What catagory should i put the download under. Kinda new at this.

Apr 17 2013 Anchor

To not violate the terms I'd guess you could put it under addons. And, well... uhm... Maps?
Or you could just chuck it up on mediafire or any other of those sharing sites that I know nothing about

Apr 18 2013 Anchor

Just chuck it under the CoP addons list with the Name MISERY 1.2 TRADER FIX or something of the type, theirs some other Misery Addons out their atm

Apr 18 2013 Anchor
