Progress on the Dhewm 3 port of Hard Corps continues to go smooth. Most of the main gameplay mechanics are in and all major bugs stomped. Recently we wrapped up the addition of Charge Attacks. Unlike most games where dashing is a defensive move; in HC Charge attacks do large amount of damage to enemies. Charges can be done in multiple directions, on the ground or in the air. The slide move from the original game has been upgraded and added into the charge attack system. The player can do 2 in a row quickly. Over time the gauge will replenish or the player can find power ups to fill the gauge back up instantly. This expands the platforming in HC even further.

Combined with wall jumping, double jumps and jump pads, the player can travel great distances in the air. Recently we uploaded a quick video showing this in effect.

Development of character select has also been finished. Multiple characters can be added to the game. Each one may have their own unique stats and melee weapons. Stats include, max health, armor, movement speed, animation and more.

As we get closer to release, tutorials will be added for developers to use the new features, info on arsenal, enemies and more will be added. The first build of Hard Corps will arrive this year for Dhewm 3 on Mac, Linux, and Windows 32-bit & 64-bit

hi Revilit,
Rivensis looks awesome and is a lot of inspiration for me.I have a problem when i try to compile the Rivensim source code, my pc can´t generate the solutions files for compilation, so i can't generate the game dll or other files.
Do you know how i can skip the step o generate the solutions via cmake? i tried anything but nothing works.Thanks

The mod db mirror for the codes includes a folder named example compile bats. I would open one of them in notepad and take a look. They should help point you in the right direction to compile with cmake. Also make sure when you have cmake installed you enabled the system shortcut, or whatever it is called, to allow using it in the command prompt or else a bat file won't work. hope this helps.

Still need to pack them all up. The current versions of dhewm3 on the official site should be compatible with Rivensin 0.9.81 builds

I'm guessing this is a Windows only mod? Wondering what ever happened to the equivalent of the old Quake 3 QVM files where you didn't have to build DLL or SO files for either operating system and could use QVM's instead to work cross platform? Nothing like this in the Doom engine?

Hello Revility!

First I would like to thanks you for the awesome Rivensin, i really like the concept and this is really pleasant to play in third person and with extra potential and compatibility with additional maps and addons! :)

Secondly i have played in 2010 for the Doom 3 release and it was really well done already! ;)

But now with the first and last release of dhewm 3 of Rivensin i have a mega freeze when i kill all forgotten one (Lost souls of ROE) with the bow in the castle, (between the first zombies waves and the arch demon boss) only in this situation with the bow. ( Tested on 2 PC on win 7 ultimate 64 bit, 32 and 64 bit of your releases I must ctrl+alt+suppr to close)

If i kill all the forgotten one with other weapons or techniques it works well.
Perhaps, this helps you to better understand.

Also I had a problem in the past with clipping objects and the saves crash also but now this is resolved good job!

Overall between this, excellent mod with lots of fun and serious! :D

Thanks for the feedback. We had thought game crashing insertion issues were solved prior to the first dhewm3 release. I will try to replicate it as I have not had them. Is this a clean install for 0.9.80? And have you tried deleting any savegame date prior to install in your mydocuments/mygames/dhewm3 folder?

This occur with regular arrows, explosive not tested and yes deleted, clean.

I can confirm this possible. For me the game goes slow mo for a bit and then fires back up to normal. Defiantly related to the regular arrows. Not sure if this occurs in other maps. Looking into a hotfix.

Looks like we have a fix. Plan to deploy the hotfix this weekend. This will also fix a couple more minor issues with Lost Souls & Dead Souls.
