In 1417, in order to carry forward the great Ming empire again, Zheng He led more than 20,000 people to set sail from Quanzhou and started the fifth maritime expedition. The next summer, the ships entered the red sea and arrived in Mecca.
Muslims and Christians still hate each other, but they do not interfere with their trade.Zheng he saw the delicacy of European goods at the market of the Mecca, especially some of the latest inventions and tools.After learning about some of this, zheng he decided to see for himself the world that had just been awakened by the Renaissance.
After more than a year's sailing, 80 sailboats from the other side of the continent sailed round the African continent and reached the Mediterranean Sea. In wealthy Venice, Zheng He was warmly welcomed. Every monarch on the continent wanted zheng he's support during this chaotic period, But Zheng He was interested in European culture, technology and art.He learned a lot about new inventions, new theories and new knowledge,and he was especially interested in the "Spherical Earth" put forward by some scholars.Zheng He held detailed discussions with scholars and had new ideas about the route back to the Ming empire.
