D3 MCS: Mars City Security is a Doom3 Modification that puts heavy emphasis on cooperative and adversarial multiplayer, merging the fast and addictive gameplay of the predecessors (Doom1 & Doom2) with the enhanced Doom3 technology (optimized netcode for Online Internet & LAN networked multiplayer with improved idtech4 unified rendering).

The “Campaign” PVE (Coop) gametype lets players play through default & custom created campaign missions with other players cooperatively. Experience community made custom maps with your friends that tell stories never before experienced in the Doom³ universe.

The “DemonWars” PVE (Coop) gametype throws players right into the epic battle that broke out throughout the entire solar system after hell has been unleashed. Fight as a human with other players cooperatively against the hordes of hell trying to make a last stand for mankind.

The PVP (Deathmatch) gametype lets players fight it out adversarially on a variety of arenas for the ultimate player versus player domination in “team” and “free for all” PVP multiplayer.

Fellow MCS friends,

news here at moddb about the ongoing work on the latest MCS build have pretty much come to a halt since our "recap update" back in March 2016 but make no mistake as work behind the scenes on the new build has steadily continued over the past years with quite some remarkable progress.

With the new year 2019 approaching we are preparing to increase once again the frequency of our news articles about the project's progress as we are getting ready for a release in the not too distance future of the new year, so stay sharp and locked & loaded for more incoming news about Mars City Security.

How do you enable HUD(not a fan of no hud) and is there a way to have infinite health on coop multiplayer? I seem the only one with infinite health when I type god but when the other player type god, it activates but they still die.

rebuild the whole mars city security ?
is it alote of work ?
do you think it worth to switch to that project insted ?
the open source gives many things that are not possible to do with original doom 3, things like real cross platform compatiblity, soon comes a 64-bit version too, but most important: optimized graphics, you don't loose so many FPS from sikkmod integration, you have these graphics features integrated into the engine... but whay am I telling you this :) you know that alredy :) because in the past you considered using fhDOOM for your project. it's possible that at the time it didn't have much to offer but now things have changed: with original doom 3 people have to fight with the game to make it run on for example windows 10, and they don't always succeed, think about it: no more client unknown to auth, modern openGL 3/4 rendering, no more ARB fixed pipeline and tons of others huge improvements :)

back then when you considerd using fhDOOM it probably wasn't ready and at the time I think it was the right decision, things have changed significantly since then and I know your work is heavily based on the original but it's time to let it go, it's just too far behind at this point and because it open source project - you don't need a license to make modifications to it. in short there are many advantages, and I hope you see that the work involved in porting MCS to fhDOOM is worth :)

hi, can you please make a version of the mod for fhDOOM (the faster/modern and high-graphics version and open source edition of Doom 3) ? it only takes to recompile the gamex86.dll

Unfortunately the fhDOOM executable does not read/load precompiled custom Doom3 1.3.1 gamecode dlls by default. Getting fhDOOM to run with MCS's gamecode will very likely require a full gamecode merged rebuild.

Fantastic and fun multiplayer mod with coop and all normal multiplayer modes, on a game that add almost no multiplayer at all, and a very basic net code, is to prove that talent is the more important aspect on the quality of a game/mod not the game or engine where you make it.
