Kane's Wrath Unofficial Big Bang Patch 1.04 is a mod that adds few new things and tries to balances the game a bit more from my and the community ideas while at the same time also tries to save the most import ingredient at bay: The "fun".
Big credit to Kekoulis for the model,
And for Medstar for other random stuff I've nagged him with ;p.
I always wasn't a fan of the final ZT's rifle model, ZT in general got some big downgrade from how it was in the betas/alphas,
At some point they made this awesome model
Static.wikia.nocookie.net
just to replace it with that joke model we know from the final game.
So I endup' replacing it with something that I deems better,
I may need to play with the size more for a bit, and I didn't changed it for the MARV's turrets cause it wasn't as bad as I've thought (like, its turrets looks meh but look better than what the ZTs had in their hands so I think I will keep MARV's railgun turrets as they are for now).
Let me know what you thinks about this model change.
*** finally! no longer broken Antenna weapon! and this new gun looks great! i just think MAYBE increase the weapon size slightly more...
Yeah mate same thoughts here, I'm kinda play around with it right now ahah xD
The model is cool and the length is perfect but I think that as it is, the gun looks like it could break in their big hands (plus they couldn't put their finger on the trigger :p ).
Of course it's just nitpicking it's still much better than the original.
True, part of me kinda thought on getting rid of the trigger all together, but with this size people can barely see that,
No one also ever noticed that the old rifle they had didn't had any trigger or handle and was basically floating in the air xD
You know in the end the trigger is a non-issue because it doesn't bother me as much as the fact that the gun doesn't look like a weapon for which a power armor would be needed to even carry it. Because of course if you have to put a soldier in a big motorized suit to protect him from tiberium you don't miss the opportunity to give him a gun so big your basic rifleman couldn't even lift from the ground :p
Also looking back at the wiki page I just found out that different paintjob were planned for the suits and I quote "This feature was cut from the final game, though the code to implement this is fully functional, and the customized zone trooper textures are included in the sample art pack of the official mod SDK."
Do plan to do something with it? That would look cool :)
I think it just that people tend to mix out that bigger armors get along with bigger guns xP,
But in reality the two not always needs to come together, I can imagine that doing some basic stuff is more harder while inside a power suit so sometimes it would be better to give the wielder a weapon he will have less hard time to carry over one that could potentially slow him down.
The Official SDK art pack was where I've got and edited these bad boys

The concept of getting a squad with a different textures was in the engine since BFME, but I don't think that code is functional anymore from comments I've seen from other modders who tried (And failed) to implement this in their own mods, so if that's really the case, the only way I can think of to achieve that involve some annoying workaround method I don't really want to mess with, plus I never really planned to go in this direction to begin with since it will be weird if only one unit in the game will do it.
The only thing that did crossed my mind was that the Field troopers and ZTs from the drop pod support powers will have a different textures, and FT already have one (though it close to the original one so it's hard to see), and Drop pod's ZT have a different model entirely now so I don't really need these textures anymore :p.
I see Kekoulis diversifies his work. Nice.
Indeed, he gave me few stuff in the past but I didn't had the time to put them in yet :>
Nice Edit!
