Homeworld : Blue Planet aims at transposing the Blue Planet fan-universe as depicted in the Age of Aquarius and War in Heaven mods for FreeSpace 2, into a Real Time Strategy setting, using the Homeworld 2 engine. This mod is a Total Conversion using assets made by the Freespace Upgrade Project, the Blue Planet Team and the HW@ Team, with the authorization and support of their respective authors.
Homeworld : Blue Planet was inspired by the Blue Planet mod for FreeSpace 2. I highly encourage HW2 fans to try FreeSpace 2 and play this excellent mod.
Set 18 years after the events of Freespace 2, also known as the Second Shivan Incursion, the Blue Planet continuity, comprised of the Age of Aquarius and War in Heaven campaigns, is considered by many as one of the best fan-made continuation to a universe laid down by the best space shooter ever made.
In the Homeworld: Blue Planet demo, you can now command the awe-inspiring warships of the United Earth Federation and the Galactic Terran/Vasudan Alliance, and lead them into battle in the Homeworld 2 engine.
Features:
- All capital ships operated at the time of Blue Planet on the GTVA Terran and UEF sides, aside from the Sanctus.
- One basic deathmatch map.
- A fully-functional Gauntlet gametype directly inspired from HW@'s Survival gametype, with two maps.
- A Massive Battle map.

Is this mod dead?
Actually, could you please have a version where the sides... well, aren't balanced?
I mean, I don't know about you, but I still feel a sort of kinship with the GTVA, and would like to have a more fun play through. After all, <SPOILER ALLERT!!!> the 14th Battle Group was supposed to be able to overwhelm all UEF forces in Sol. Or if you don't feel like making another version, could you give us the know-how to make the corrections ourselves?

Hey will there ever be a second release of this? Maybe with some deathmatch Ai and higher HP ships?
I think one of the biggest issues with this mod is that UEF ships have the unstoppable urge to charge straight into GTVA ships when they get in range. It would be much better for balance if the UEF ships would prefer to hold position and only charge into the enemy when ordered to.
This looks quite fantastic guys. Looking forward to a full release.
