i'm gonna make starkweather pay for this!
that actually looks good mate, never thought someone would make a half life mod about manhunt.
games cool but needs a manhunt map or something
Beta 0.5 only has two new additions:
- The M40A1 from Opposing Force
- A slightly edited titles.txt that changes Gordon Freeman's name in the intro train ride (but not in any of the 'SUBJECT: FREEMAN, STATUS...' messages) to James Earl Cash.
Once again, there's still no way to acquire the M40A1 in-game without cheating.
Beta 0.4.7 (where are these numbers coming from?) is yet another incremental update. New this time:
- HD weapon models are back (they weren't in 0.3.4, for some reason)
- New Barney model (the LD model, but with weird, ill-fitting HD hands)
- G-Man model (the standard LD model with added death animations, so yes - you can now kill him... at least during the altered c5a1 map)
- Updated Desert Eagle model (now with matching hand/arm)
- The Knife from OpForce (with matching hand/arm)
Still missing is any substantial changes to the core gameplay, ways to actually acquire the Desert Eagle and Knife while playing the main campaign, and the point of all these incremental updates.
Video (showing off how some weapons work and what happens when you kill the G-Man):
there is a new version of this mod you can make a gameplay?
I only tend to make videos when there's something substantial to show off. There wasn't any point in making a new video just to show that you changed a bit of text.
When you next do something major, I'll be show to show that off.
For the record - yes, you can kill the G-Man whenever he appears in the main game now, but doing so doesn't interrupt his speeches or any scripted sequences he's set to perform (like walking away, which he'll do regardless of if you've shot him or not).
I tested this on map c1a2b to demonstrate:
It would be absolutely AMAZING to play Manhunt In GoldSource Engine. I hope this mod won't aim for the couple model changes or audio changes, i hope it becomes the actual game of Manhunt.
I suspect at some point - say, around Beta 5.3 or something - there might be enough here to recommend. Maybe.
Beta 0.3.4 is another incremental one - the new addition this time is support for the Desert Eagle, brought over from Opposing Force... complete with OpForce arms, which don't match the other weapons.
Also, no further map changes have been made, so there's no point in the game where you can actually pick up the Desert Eagle - you'll need to cheat to even use it.
...really starting to wonder what the point of all this is.
