The Wastelands. Vast areas between Combine controlled cities. A land long forgotten by human, infested with Xen wildlife. Full of abandoned settlements and dead trees. The only infrastructure that is maintained is the railway, used by the Combine. In Half-Life 2: Forgotten Lands you are given a chance to explore those areas, while trying to find a way inside City 17.

you Could put a small cavern half way through the game and put a Gonarch in there as a boss enemy.
The idea for where this mod takes place is excellent, and if done correctly, could be seriously awesome. Tracking!
Combine Forces will be present not only on the railway. There is going to be a chapter with a combine controlled bridge, and one of the chapters will take place inside of an overwatch outpost. Also halfway through the game combine is going to take interest in the main character and send infantry squads after him.

And believe me, i read the Combine Overwiki many times, and the Combine Overwiki also says that it is unknown if any Gonarch`s are present on Earth.

Xen creatures will be shown in the wastelands, but, honestly, i don`t have any idea on how the barnacle gets on the ceiling.
Gonarch's are present, but their sacks are ripped off and put on a weird combine thing, that birthes headcrabs into launchers.
They probably begin life as mobile beasties and then once they find a place to 'settle down' they become, well, barnacles.
