The Wastelands. Vast areas between Combine controlled cities. A land long forgotten by human, infested with Xen wildlife. Full of abandoned settlements and dead trees. The only infrastructure that is maintained is the railway, used by the Combine. In Half-Life 2: Forgotten Lands you are given a chance to explore those areas, while trying to find a way inside City 17.

That pic is pretty much one gigantic work in progress, but i like the setting.
I agree, nice setting. This mod is really looking like it will have a good 'adventure' and survival feel to it, whilst capturing the visual beauty of the imagined world of the HL2 Alpha. Keep it up! :)
