Dark Skies is a total conversion mod (on Source 2 in the future) that aims to recreate Half-Life 2's original concepts and storyline mixed in with our own ideas and visuals. Along with this, there will be some new gameplay and enemies.

10 tears after the Resonance Cascade the Earth is in a state of peril. Destruction is everywhere and the human populace is held captive by a powerful, inter-dimensional force known as the Combine. These oppressors hold mankind within fortified cities, forcing them to do hazardous factory work. Meanwhile the planet's resources are being stripped and the air polluted with toxic, murky fumes. Then Gordon arrives, sparking the uprising to end the Combine's reign.
The team and I have come to a consensus that we should set Dark Skies aside to work on something smaller. We decided this because this project is fairly large and ambitious while we are inexperienced with creating mods. Along with this, it has been nearly impossible to find the required people to make Dark Skies actually happen; likely due to the existence of other, promising Hl2 beta mods such as the Raising the Bar. In other words, working on Dark Skies at this time was a mistake. We do hope to come back to it some day when we have a larger team and more experience, but don’t get your hopes up. We have ideas for smaller scale games we can start work on but we will not make the mistake of making a Mod DB page for one until we have at least some content other than soundtracks and concept art. Meanwhile we are grateful for what support we have received and are sorry to disappoint those who looked forward to seeing Dark Skies happen.
I present to you the early stages of Quarry Town. Note that all textures and models are place holders and will be replaced with custom textures.
We want to make sure Dark Skies feels like a Half-Life game in as many aspects as possible. The gameplay is just one of them and while we want Half-Lifey...
I wanted to see how you guys felt about weapon customization being a possible feature.

I like how literally every single of these mods has the exact same bio.
This Projects Looks like it's coming up great.Keep it up!
I just added a link to my deviant art page (at the top of the page)for all my concept art. Once we get more in-game content I'll probably remove most of the art from here.
It is the first time I see this project , It seems promising , but the page had 1 year of concept arts and just like 3-4 photos in-game. Anyway , I will be checking the page every month or something like that , because I really liked the concept arts ... as long they reach the project , of course
We have had troubles finding people to develop the actual content, and our original plan of attack turned out to be quite inefficient because of it. We have more levels in production, so you guys will see more eventually.
Do you need someone to go over grammar and spelling? that seems to be a problem, especially on the main page of this mod, which won't help sell it to people.
If you're up for it sure. Otherwise I find that some of the coolest mods have terrible grammar on their main page and people still look forward to them. P.S. I'm used to typing with Microsoft Word with spellcheck and everything.
Have you guys considered working with the Raising The Bar team? They've gotten pretty far from what they've showed us.
We have a very different vision from what they are making. So no we haven't considered it.
I don't know man. They are very similar visions. They are aiming to recreate the Half Life 2 story, add cut enemies, and have a different feel from other mods like it except for this one. You guys have the same vision. They are in need of devs, and you guys are fit for the job. If you guys just come together, you can get this done faster and more efficiently. You don't need to separate yourselves from them. If you want to add your own spin, you still can. You being on their mod team would influence how they would do things.
I can see why you might think they're similar enough, but I guarrantee our vissions for how the original story would have worked are a lot different.
I hate to butt in when people are talking about our mod on other people's pages, but I would like to help clarify a bit. It's a bit more detailed than simply merging, there are a lot of particulars that are extremely subjective when reconstructing the "old storyline" as one may call it. Merging would serve no practical purpose other than adding a few more team members into the mix, and on top of that it would restrict who could carry over what in terms of story and content. Speaking for RtB, we do like having other mods working on this stuff, as it not only gives more avenues of approaching this style of mod but also gives us a little bit of friendly competition too.
What is with these people who constantly shill for RTB? Maybe some beta mods want to stand on their own instead of ******* merging.
