Since you guys gave so much great feedback when we asked if you thought weapon modifications should be a feature,i thought id ask you the same think except about crafting.
Now before you say anything don't worry,if we do implement this it isn't going to be to complex or deep. Your not going to be running around punching trees and making an ax out of a rock and a stick, instead you'd be : making molotovs out of beer and some cloth, taking a nail and sticking it through a plank of wood so its a bit more effective as a weapon and etc.
Now if you're not into this don't worry, were only going to implement if you guys really want it.
Once again, thank you for all of your support.
I wanna non steam version :(
I am not afford for throwing away 7 euros on steam. Its 40 PLN, so it's expensive in Poland.
Well steam its self is free, and then there's a way of putting non-steam games on without paying. Though it's probably not the best idea to put a pirated valve game on steam like that.
You don't need HL2 on steam to play a mod. You just need a game that uses source like TF2 and it's free!
jak chcesz non steam to pobierz hl2ns cebulaczku
Mam non-steam ale ciężko się instaluje mody. Dlatego mogliby zrobić wersję zdatną do zainstalowania na non-steam
This could be interesting, but I think it's just extra work that isn't very necessary. You probably have enough worries without it.
Maybe. We just wanted to have some ne gameplay. I know stealth is going to be a definite one as I imagine it would be easier to implement without making new game mechanics.
I was wondering if stealth was implemented when you asked about the weapon modifications. It's great to know it'll be there!

We probably won't add the crafting (maybe just for Molotov's though. I mainly want gameplay that is different enough to make the mod even more of its own experience, but nothing too different.
I might make a thread about other gameplay I'd like to implement that's not as un-Half-Lifey as weapon customization and crafting.
I still don't see the problem with weapon customisation.
I think it would feel too much like CoD (not saying that its the only series that does it)and CoD is crap compared to Half-Life.
But CoD doesn't have weapon customisation... Not in SP anyway. However, when I hear weapon customisation I immediately think Crysis, which in my opinion did an outstanding job with this feature.
Well we still want Dark Skies to feel as much like the old HL2 as possible.
Crafting is a good idea. You could find items in the map and create devices and weapons to alter the experience. These items that you find should be randomly generated, however to avoid frustration, all items to craft one item should spawn at the same time.
